ive done a preganacy test 3 days before AF and 2 wks after ovulation. The test was clearly positive a bid dark plus. Im already feeling sick but could not be more then 2 wks pregnant with ds this didnt start til 8wks. Obviously i have high levels of hcg does this mean anything so early in pregnancy like a girl or twins? There are twins in dh family but it obviously runs down the female line-but what are the chances?

i don't think the darkness of the positive line has any bearing on the sex tbh

im just suprised how dark the line came out so early on-ah well im prob just eager for a girl

if he's got identical twins in the family then it can be passed down. some tests are just really good though. morning sickness with dd1 never happened with dd2 was all the time from early on!

As far as I know, it is non idential twins that can run in families as it means the mother is pre-disposed (sp?) to produce two eggs in the same cyale. Identical twins do not run in families. They are more likely in older mothers or very young mothers I seem to remember reading.

Yes, I think non-identical twins are the heridatary ones (pre disoposed to releasing more than one egg at a time) and only the mother's family has any bearing on this. Identical ones are a "freak of nature" so to speak (and a very lovely one they are before anyone leaps on me!!)

Soupy - my sister has identical twins and we joke about them being "her gorgeous freaks"
