Antibiotics and conception

I have just been diagnosed with (yet another) UTI after DTD 3 times in 48 hours when we got a positive OPK. I have been put on Amoxicillin (a penicillin antibiotic). I ovulated late yesterday/today, and really felt positive this month for a BFP. However, I feel now that the antibiotics may reduce my chance of implantation, despite my doc saying its safe considering I am TTC. He didnt really have any other option but to give me them, the UTI is quite severe.

Has anyone got a BFP after or while taking antibiotics? Or should I just write off this month ??

I got implantation bleeding with my daughter right in the middle of a course of antibiotics and cyclizine for an inner ear infection, So it's still possible

The antibiotics are very unlikely to interfere in implantation. An untreated uti and potential kidney infection is a definitely a bigger risk to your chances..

Oh thank you! The doc did say they were the best antibiotics to give if I was pregnant, and I know he wouldnt put me in harms way, but I was afraid they would mess up the balance of things in there, and seeing how long it takes to get that BFP I am guessing balance is an important thing. Thanks for reassuring me. I wont uncross my fingers just yet. Only 2dpo so still have a while to go.
