Is this a positive OPK?

Hello ladies - I got a high fertility result on the Clearblue this morning with FMU (static smiley face) and thought to test with my cheap OPKs at 11:30am after a 4 hour hold (sorry for TMI!)

Is this a positive OPK? Getting there? Test again?

Ooh yes, a lovely positive :)

Can I ask - I've never had a positive - did this come up straight away or did you have to wait a bit? I have had a lot of "almost positives" but it takes a good 10 minutes at least and I wonder if I should just lose hope and not get excited if the line doesn't darken fairly quickly.

Hi @8DaysAWeek I've been using OPKs with previous pregnancies and from experience they do take a few minutes to develop. A clearblue digi takes (sometimes) up to 10 minutes to develop so I try and leave the strip for a good 8 minutes so that I can get a clear results.

The picture I posted in this thread was taken after 5 minutes developing time

OPK strip tests take slightly longer to fully develop than pregnancy strip tests take. That’s a completely positive test.

@8DaysAWeek what time are you testing? Before I get my high result on clearblue digitals I test twice a day with the cheap strip (once with FMU and once around 4pm) until I get a peak results.

After my high result - I test up to 4 times a day:
FMU
11:30am
4:30pm
9pm

This way I make sure I don't miss the surge.

This cycle my body is behaving a tad differently, I had 4 days of solid low results and out of nowhere this morning a peak results (totally skipped the high reading) so looks like we need to get going tonight!

Oh I've not had a period since before I was pregnant with DS almost 2.5 years ago! Still breastfeeding. So I tend to do an opk daily, usually at 7-8pm after work, but will do two a day if other signs tell me I might be ovulating. 6 months of nothing is getting tedious though 😅
