I stopped taking the pill in Dec last year. Had my period once i finished my last pack. Then started using opks...
Positive opk on cd14 then on cycle day 28 period started. Thought this would be a sign of things to come...wrong.
Last month +opk on cd16, went on to have a 30 day cycle.
This month i am now on cd17 and as yet no +opk...🤔🤔.
Is this normal before your period settles back into a routine?

Yep. Completely normal. It can take up to a year for your periods to go back to normal after coming off the pill

thethoughtfox · 28/02/2018 15:07

Mine took 3 months. We deliberately didn't 'try' until my periods came back properly so I wouldn't go out of mind every month with hope!

Lookingforadvice15 · 28/02/2018 15:25

A year! 😮😮

@thethoughtfox that is exactly what i have been doing, driving myself mad! Its so frustrating to not know what is going on in your own body. The last two months we had good timing around when i believe i ovulated, but this month i have no clue.

I dont temp and dont want to go down that road because i feel it will cause more stress.

I remember that time well. It will happen for you. Chill out and enjoy wine and unpasteurised cheese in the meantime!

I came off cerelle last month then had withdrawl bleed and on round 22nd Feb had just a few days of very light brown don't even know if I'd call it a period, no idea if and when I've even ovulated, took a few ovulation tests few weeks ago which were negative. X

jemimafuddleduck · 28/02/2018 18:40

I recently came off the pill, c1 was 28 days and I ovulated on d18. This is c2 and currently d16. I had the below picture on d10 which I don't think is quite positive and now no lines at all on my opk! So god knows???!!!!

LoveB · 28/02/2018 18:46

Took me over a year. Agnes castus sorted me out immediately though

jemimafuddleduck · 28/02/2018 19:33

LoveB what's that and how did it help?

Lookingforadvice15 · 28/02/2018 19:47

Thanks everyone for the replies.

@thethoughtfox thanks, you're right. Feel like i need more positive thinking.

@jemimafuddleduck i feel your pain. Some people just come off the pill and fall preggo first month...i am not one of those people 😂

It's a herb of some sort, you can get it at holland and Barrett or health food shops. It regulates your cycle! Lots of threads about it on here. I swear by it!

jemimafuddleduck · 28/02/2018 19:53

I've read that it just makes your cycles shorter - have you found this? I just want help to ovulate! I said above I ov'd cd18 on c1, but I'm not 100% sure I did, I just think so. Going to start temping next month if no AF

LoveB · 28/02/2018 19:59

My periods after coming off the pill were all over the place - 3 weeks, then 2 months, 4 weeks, 5 weeks, 2 weeks etc for almost 2 years, completely all over the show. As soon as I started taking AC they were every 29 days, completely regular every month. I weaned myself off it gradually (after about 6 months) and they stayed regular, then got pregnant when I came off it completely.
That's all I know I'm afraid! Good luck

Miserablemouse · 01/03/2018 09:29

Yep, mine are still not as they were pre-pill (all those years ago!) and I've been off it almost a year. That said they do seem to be settling down and this month is the first one where I'm fairly sure I ovulated.

You might find they settle down immediately, it might be a couple of months, it might take longer. I wasn't keen to try Agnus Castus, as I'd heard it's pretty strong, until I'd given my body a chance to regulate itself, but if I'm not pregnant this month I'll be giving it a go because it's a year mid March that I've been off the pill Sad.

Good luck xxx

Last I was ttc I went straight in to a 28 day cycle - came off pill, 28 days later had a period, 28 days later had another one, then next month we ttc and I got pregnant (we didn't try the other two months).

This time came off the pill, 28 days later had a period, this month I'm on CD33 and still no sign of AF or ovulation. It's crap!

LifeOfRiley63 · 01/03/2018 10:53

Yep! Came off cerelle in October, didn't have a withdrawl bleed, AF finally appeared 116 days later!

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/03/2018 10:57

I came of the pill 7 months ago and my periods are still irregular. i'm not sure if they ever won't be because they were like that before I went on the pill. It's pretty annoying.

Alyosha · 01/03/2018 11:00

Absolutely normal. First period 32 days, next period 28 days, third was on track to be 26 days but I got a semi-surprise BFP!

FlapJackered · 01/03/2018 11:29

I am the same. Completely irregular at between 30-40 days. I went to the doctor this week as i was getting some spotting in between and she said it can take a year for cycle to settle down. It doesn't mean you are not ovulating though and can still very much get pregnant. I was getting very light AF too and she said that was very normal after coming off the pill as your lining has less to shed. It is frustrating though!

Lookingforadvice15 · 01/03/2018 20:07

Really is frustrating, makes me wish i hadnt bothered with the pill and used a different method of contraception.

That being said i final got my + opk today with ic then confirmed by cb digi test.

So thats been cd14, cd16 now cd18...i hope it doesnt go any higher!
