Very strange bleeding and worried

Two weeks after my last period I started bleeding again which was unusual in itself but the blood isn't normal.

It's dry and black. I usually bleed bright red.
I'm passing big black, thick tarry clots.
The only way to describe it is if you mixed mud with a little water.

I'm getting pain on one side but not excruciating.

I'm TTC and not on the pill or anything.

It's a nightmare getting an appointment with my GP so wanted to ask your advice on if anyone has experienced similar before I try and get an appointment.

I Would be doing a pregnancy test just to rue that out.

I think you should get seen urgently

I take it there’s no chance st all you could still have a tampon in?

Haudyer - I checked last night in the shower as that came to mind and there wasn't anything I could feel.

Sleep - I will go and buy a test tomorrow. Could that even be a possibility if I'm passing clots?

I’ve had a situation in the past where I tested positive after my period and then my body acted like I was pregnant except the egg hadn’t implanted correctly so it all ended a few weeks later.

If you’re not showing as pregnant then I would definitely be making an appnt with the GP
