Oh I'm so sorry @PumpkinPatch000. Gutted for you. You're still not out until af shows so fingers crossed. Is this your first cycle post mc? If so timings could still be off. Unfortunately for me after my first loss my symptoms did change and become heightened so I kept thinking I was pregnant and then af would come. I hope this is not the case for you but if so don't be too hard on yourself. x

strawberrye · 10/03/2018 08:32

@PumpkinPatch000 so sorry to hear that, how disappointing Sad It's cruel how early pregnancy symptoms and symptoms before AF are so similar. I think when we're all TTC we probably overanalyze symptoms we wouldn't have noticed previously. Difficult to say what your chances are at the moment but like the others said don't count yourself competely out until AF arrives... You might be having a much longer cycle than normal post MC? Keeping my fingers crossed for you! X

weasledee · 10/03/2018 08:34

Gutted for you pumpkin :(

Boboelephant · 10/03/2018 09:11

So I've decided it's healthier to share my neurotic fantasies rather than hide them (must be my inner therapist talking). So 7dpo and woke up with a painful leg cramp. Also noticed that for the last two days when I eat beef it tastes a bit like fish?? of course this is scientific proof of pregnancy right? 🤣🤣

strawberrye · 10/03/2018 09:23

To add to all of our neuroses I'm only CD18, normally ovulate around CD13/14 (not using OPKs at the moment) and for the past couple of days I've felt really nauseous. Obviously getting myself excited it could be pregnancy related even though I'm probably only day 4 past ovulation and even if I were there wouldn't have been implantation yet Blush

TheDinosaurRoars · 10/03/2018 09:29

So sorry pumpkin and I hope it turns out to just be too early for you to get a positive.

Timewaitsfornowoman · 10/03/2018 09:34

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping I can join you.

I had a D&C yesterday after finding out at 9.5 weeks that the baby had died at around 8 weeks. This was after a scan at 7 weeks where a strong heartbeat was spotted. Have run the gamut of emotions since: utter devastation, blaming myself, anger, jealousy of pregnant friends and family, etc.

Today I finally feel a huge sense of relief that I can begin the journey to moving on. Have ordered all the conception toolkit and just want to get started now - all I can think about is being pregnant again.

I know this question has been asked before, but I wonder if you can give me some reassurance? Both the doctor and the nurse at the hospital where I had my D&C said to wait until next AF to try again as the lining of the womb needed space to thicken. I was under the impression I could get going straight away (once bleeding and pain was gone). Who is right?

Thanks ladies, I'm very excited to be joining such a supportive, positive community.

Cakelaur · 10/03/2018 09:35

Bfn here too!!! 😭 but no AF. Which if I ovulated cd11 it's due today. If I ovulated cd13 it's due Monday. But off to see the puppy!!!!

@PumpkinPatch000 sorry you got bfn too babe. But like the others said.... you're not out til af shows. Maybe your cycle is just a bit off. Mines defo weird.

@Boboelephant 😂🤣😂 defo a symptom!!! If you look it up on google it Defo says fishy beef is either pregnancy or out of date!! 🤣🙈

whyistherumgone · 10/03/2018 09:37

@TheDinosaurRoars that's really sweet of you to think of me after everything you've been through! I wouldn't have thought it odd at all, but I know what you mean :) Please feel free to message me anytime, I would love to hear from you.

Good luck to anyone testing today! My window (according to my tracker, and it was bang on this month) isn't til the beginning of April now so I have a couple of weeks to get my head around the fact we are going to be trying again first.

whyistherumgone · 10/03/2018 09:38

Sorry to hear that @pumpkinpatch000 :( I hope it's just too early for you too.

Claire138 · 10/03/2018 09:40

Sorry @pumpkinpatch000 please don’t feel like a fool! We all do this every month...it’s not foolishness it’s hope!

@strawberrye Haha I know what you mean. I had my temp spike this morning so 1dpo (yay! Finally in 2ww) woke up feeling sick but I’ve had to catch myself on and realise that I prob have caught something rather than it being pregnancy related...1dpo is far too early to be symptom spotting lol

@boboelpehant when are you going to take a test? When is af due?

Boboelephant · 10/03/2018 09:43

@strawberrye you're in good company with me! Fingers crossed our far too early symptoms actually mean something good!
Welcome @Timewaitsfornowoman. So sorry for your loss. My doctor at the EPU told me we could get going as soon as the bleeding stopped. She said they only advise to wait til next af to help them with the dating. I was not one of the lucky ones who caught straight away but others on here have. Good luck!
@Cakelaur bahahahaha!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Its good to be able to laugh about the things we obsess about privately! To be fair though the first fishy experience was steak home on Thurs night and then Korean beef at a restaurant last night. DH could not taste the fish either time!! 😜

Claire138 · 10/03/2018 09:49

Hi @timewaitsfornowoman so sorry for your loss! I too had a mmc and had a d&c. Although, I didn’t have the curettage mine was a vaccum so not sure which one you had but my doctor said once bleeding has stopped there is no need to wait. I personally waited for my first af as I just wanted to have a sense of control over my body before starting the ttc process again but that was just personal. Hope you’re body heals quickly and you can start ttc again.

Boboelephant · 10/03/2018 09:54

@timewaitsfornowoman- mine was the vacuum too. They call it an ERPC.

Timewaitsfornowoman · 10/03/2018 10:05

Thanks @Boboelephant and @Claire138. Think mine was both but can't be sure as I was under general anaesthetic. The internet is very confusing too! All of this is such a minefield!

zarala · 10/03/2018 10:39

@Timewaitsfornowoman I had an ERPC in December for a MMC at 11.5weeks
We actually wanted to wait 3 cycles before trying again as that was my second MC but I mistook ovulation spotting for the onset of AF and I got knocked up straight away. I'd never known that ovulation spotting existed. I'd never experienced it before - hoping it a new trick my body does to help this next journey

Unfortunately tho that pregnancy didn't stick and I just had another MMC this last week at 8 weeks
That's not because i got pregnant right away- the doctor assured me it wouldn't have impacted the outcome - but who knows?
FWIW I have a friend who conceived straight after a MC (although not ERPC or d&c) and she's 25weeks now going strong

Good luck and hope you have a successful healthy outcome soon!
Ps. What's the conception toolkit?!?

@Boboelephant hope the acupuncture works for you!!! I am going to look into it

PassTheAfterEights · 10/03/2018 10:46

Hi @Timewaitsfornowoman and welcome, and very sorry you've had a horrible week.

Re the question of TTC again; a) many do conceive again immediately after an early loss without waiting for AF, so it's possible, and b) the second body of medical opinion actually supports the rumoured post-loss surge in fertility. It seems very much to depend on the party line at the facility you attend for treatment. Waiting for AF helps your medical team date a new pregnancy and although it feels very un-hippocratic to advise against TTC straight away on medical grounds just to make their lives easier, it does seem fairly common! Hmm

Basically - it's up to you. If you don't care a lot about dates until your first scan, you lose nothing by trying. We had an early loss in Jan and I felt better getting on with it, so tried again in Feb, no luck, AF came & now in March 2ww. Some have waited longer, others have gone straight from loss to pregnancy. Whatever you decide good luck to you x

@cakelaur @pumpkinpatch000 so sorry ladies, you're not out yet. Hang in there. Happy puppy cuddles today!

PassTheAfterEights · 10/03/2018 10:48

Oh bloody hell - leaves laptop 40 mins between starting a reply and posting :( - sorry @timewaits and all other posters - what they said basically!!

Timewaitsfornowoman · 10/03/2018 10:50

@zarala So sorry to hear about your losses. You are one tough woman! Thanks

Ha ha, it's not an official 'conception toolkit', just Amazon Primed some OPKs, FRERs, conceive plus and pregnacare conception. Made me feel a whole lot better - like I was taking positive steps, if you know what I mean.

It's so confusing. The miscarriage association booklet I was given said there's no medical reason why I shouldn't try again, just the dating issue. But also don't want to jeopardise the baby if I do conceive and my uterus isn't ready. Not sure I could go through this all again. Perhaps no one really knows the answer and I should just go for it and see what happens?

Timewaitsfornowoman · 10/03/2018 10:53

Posted my last message before I saw yours @PassTheAfterEights - thanks so much, that's made me feel a lot better. Am just going to go for it and see what happens! I have this really strong urge to and don't feel like my body needs me to wait, I'm not in pain and there's very little bleeding.

Fingers crossed for us all.

Timewaitsfornowoman · 10/03/2018 10:54

Obvs I'll wait for the bleeding to stop though.

weasledee · 10/03/2018 12:08

Hi timewaits sorry that you have to join us.....
I had a loss at 14 weeks and was very eager to start again so I didn't wait, and we got pregnant straight away! I thought this was great but that too ended at 8 weeks. I do wish I'd given my body chance to heal. So this time I've waited 2 months before I started trying again..... x

Boboelephant · 10/03/2018 12:31

@Claire138 sorry I missed your post earlier as I was writing too. I think af should be due Friday or Saturday. I think I'll test Thursday. 🤞
@zarala I had ovulation spotting for the first time after erpc. Had it for first two cycles but not the third. I hope the acupuncture works too- thanks!
@Timewaitsfornowoman I think you have to do what feels right for you. I have heard (although this may not be true!!) that having the erpc can help as they clear everything out so you are starting from a fresh slate. Also I think everyone heals differently. If you feel like you want to crack on then do that.

TheDinosaurRoars · 10/03/2018 12:51

@Timewaitsfornowoman so sorry to hear that. I had an ERPC and was told it was only due to dating that women are often told to wait a cycle. Despite trying straightaway, it took me three cycles to conceive again. I also miscarried last year and conceived again in the immediate cycle, so it definitely can happen. Hopefully you won’t be waiting for long for your BFP.

Sloeberrygin · 10/03/2018 13:28

@whyistherumgone really sorry to hear what you've been through. I'm not surprised you're feeling scared as well as excited about TTC again after all that.

@Cakelaur I'm 11DPO today, I did another test this morning but BFN. But then the spotting has got a bit heavier so I'm going to have to assume it's just a strange AF. I'm so disappointed, even though I knew it was a slim chance that I'd get pregnant again so quickly, I'd obviously got my hopes up too much.

@PumpkinPatch000 sorry you had a BFN too, it's such a horrible feeling.

@Timewaitsfornowoman I'm sorry for your loss. I've heard the same as the others have said- there's no need to wait.
