@Pumpkinpatch000 As far as my understanding goes you wouldn’t have a period if you hadn’t never ovulated. And my counsellor pretty much confirmed that. I guess that’s why people who suffer from PCOS have such sporadic periods because they get infrequent ovulation.

PumpkinPatch000 · 02/03/2018 14:10

@dulwichdays ah that makes sense. Maybe that is the case then.

Boboelephant · 02/03/2018 14:34

@keepinghopeful and @Claire138 I know exactly what you both mean too! It seems everyone I know just thinks about getting pregnant and bang! I know a few people who have had a MC but then immediately afterwards have had a healthy baby. I feel on my own sometimes with this endless trying and waiting and disappointment and loss. I'm so sorry it seems you missed ovulation @keepinghopeful. What is the day 21 test?

Ahh I just want all of us on here to get our babies soon!!!

ANewHope18 · 02/03/2018 16:05

Congrats star88 :)

Sorry to those who have recently joined, be kind to yourselves.

Re ovulation and OPKs. I tested at least twice a day since bleeding stopped. I really needed the focus and hope that it would work out. Also I had 2 positive OPKs, we dtd the second day and I think that's when we conceived as the last time was 5 days before so maybe too early? There's still a good chance on the day of/day after a positive.

keepinghopeful · 02/03/2018 16:06

@Boboelephant the day 21 test tests your progesterone level which then gives a range which indicates ovulation or not

Boboelephant · 02/03/2018 16:11

@keepinghopeful is that something you requested or did they have reason to query your progesterone levels?

keepinghopeful · 02/03/2018 16:19

Bit of both ... this time last year i had it done two months in a row because i wasnt getting preg at 6months & showed no ovulation however i have had 3 pregs (& m/c's) since then. So im now under RMC & testing everything under sun. I always suspected i dont ovulate strongly from left side because always have got preg on right side ovulation (i get right sided pain). These results confirmed it as January my day 21 was really good which was right side & last month was left & results crap. I had high hopes for this month as thought would be right again but it seems to be nothing .... aarrrggghhhh lol

Kate8989 · 02/03/2018 17:54

@DaisyMay25 went back to docs today. She had a look to see what’s going on and says there’s so much discharge and my cervix is bleeding. She’s given me the strongest antibiotics as maybe an infection. I’m not sure if I feel better or worse, but at least she took an interest in me. I’m going back in a week but pains still the same.

How’s things with you!? Xx

PumpkinPatch000 · 02/03/2018 18:09

Hope you feel better soon @Kate8989 it's good the docs gave you something for it. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and you'll be feel a bit better in a couple of days x

Kate8989 · 02/03/2018 18:17

@PumpkinPatch000 , bless you thanks so much. I’m really feeling it at the moment, this pain is driving me mad! I’ve just taken my first antiobiotic so hopefully it will do something!! Xx

Boboelephant · 03/03/2018 06:51

@keepinghopeful oh I see. I didn't realise you were under the RMC. Sorry it's hard to keep track of everyone's history! I've said this once before but I was told by a surgeon that your ovaries don't always take it in turns. So maybe this was another left ovary month and fingers crossed your right is gearing up for a strong run! 🤞
@Kate8989 so sorry to hear that! I'm glad they've taken it seriously and given you antibiotics. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery 🤞

I'm happy to say after my worry I got a strong positive opk this morning so busy weekend for me! 😜

Daffodil77 · 03/03/2018 08:36

Hi ladies, checking in again. I've been trying not to chat too much on their thread as it can make me a bit obsessed. I've been keeping up to date with all the goings on. Nice to see some more bfps recently.

I'm feeling a bit down at the moment. Almost certainly because I've not left the house in two days because of the snow and work is a bit stressful atm.

Just coming up to fertile week but dh has (hopefully) his last ever accountancy exam on weds. According to Glow I'm due to OV on weds. He's too stressed atm to DTD, which is fair enough. We knew TTC wasn't a priority this month so I haven't been doing ovulation tests. Still temping so I know if I've ov'd by his exam, so we can DTD after if not.

Thing is it's a poignant month. It's 6 months since our MC, due date is next month, when all eyes will be on the royal baby plus I have friends due then. It's also nearly a year since we started trying. We'd waited a long time to TTC due to exams, even tho we're only 30. I feel a bit hopeless. A lot of the ladies on here when I first joined are having 12/20 week scans now. For the vast majority things are working out which is so reassuring for the rest of us and wonderful for them. I just can't shake the feeling of being left behind.

Sorry for the early morning offload. I can't talk to dh about it at the moment and can feel it building up.

keepinghopeful · 03/03/2018 09:04

@Daffodil77 morning hun, im right with you this month & unfortunately still here as well. Next month my due date & 3 friends are also due. Its so bloody hard. Ive no one to talk to outside of here as both friends i would have chatted to are now also preg so feel very alone as well.

Im heading into yoga here to see if will help me. Im now stressing about not getting 2 lines on a bloody opk never mind a preg test atm 🙈. 🤣

We have to believe it will all be ok very soon for us & remain positive in order to keep sane (well me anyway) even though some days i just cry my eyes out!

Daffodil77 · 03/03/2018 09:35

Haha I can't tell if opks are good or bad! I'm stressing about buying cream toilet roll instead of white and there's people out there giving birth without even knowing they were pregnant?! (See BBC news) 🤣

Thanks hopeful. Sometimes all you need is validation and to know it's not just you. I think we should just boycott April - what do you think? Xx

PassTheAfterEights · 03/03/2018 11:15

hello all, just waving hi really, hope everyone's OK.

FW starts today. In follow up to snow-balls scene, DH descended stairs at 6pm yesterday in pj's (unheard of and usually my move) announcing the 'freedom' of his chaps to cool off and prepare themselves Grin

happy weekend everyone x

PumpkinPatch000 · 03/03/2018 12:16

@Kate8989 fingers crossed you feel better soon. I hope you have a restful weekend ahead?

@PassTheAfterEights haha good luck! Will keep my fingers crossed for you!

@Daffodil77 I can understand where you are coming from. At the moment everyone around seems to either be pregnant or having babies! My two best friends now have babies and my sister in law is due this month. I'm very happy for them all and love the cuddles but it does pang at the heart strings occasionally.

So the AF pains I had yesterday disappeared last night and haven't returned... not AF either... hmmmm this waiting game is hard! Thinking ahead when I probably shouldn't but I want to know what to expect if we are lucky enough to fall pregnant at some point. If you have had a MC do you get an early scan or are you still expected to wait until 12 weeks unless you go private? i'd be a nervous wreck if I have to wait all that time.

x

Daffodil77 · 03/03/2018 12:46

@pumpkin I think it varies a lot by area. My epu said I couldn't self refer and it would only be through my gp if an issue was suspected, as per their normal process. I think some areas allow you to self refer. Some people have lied and said there's an issue to get the scan because they couldn't get a reassurance scan.

PumpkinPatch000 · 03/03/2018 13:21

@Daffodil77 I can kind of understand it because they need to prioritise those with issues. Good to know though. Before the MC we looked into having a private scan anyway with a harmony test so will looked into that a bit more if we are lucky.

Boboelephant · 03/03/2018 13:28

@Daffodil77 I completely understand where you're coming from too. Hope you are doing ok and manage to dtd after DH's exam.
Haha @PassTheAfterEights I do enjoy your DH updates 🤣 GL with the fw! I'm just coming to the end of mine. I'm not temping but all other signs point to ov today. 🤞
@PumpkinPatch000 fingers crossed! How many dpo are you? Are you going to take a test? My EPU don't take self referrals either but wrote a note to my GP after my ERPC saying they'd scan me from 7 weeks. I also will have one at 5 weeks as I've had a previous ectopic rupture.

PumpkinPatch000 · 03/03/2018 13:58

@Boboelephant Thank you. I'm 13 dpo cycle day 29 and going to take a test tomorrow if I can pluck up the courage. At the moment I feel like chickening out and waiting another week. That's really good they agreed to scan you early, must be good to get some re-assurance. So sorry to hear about your ectopic. Sending love x

Llondbol · 03/03/2018 14:37

Still looking hopeful then @PumpkinPatch000 😁 Still no sign of AF for me either and I've had AF type cramps since Sunday - same as when I got my BFP in December 😕 16dpo and temperatures still high but BFN this morning. Maybe it's just hormones playing havoc post MC... but secretly hopeful it's a new pregnancy!!

PumpkinPatch000 · 03/03/2018 14:46

Yep still in with a chance until AF turns up. Before the MC my cycles were as long as 36 days and i'm only 29 now though so early days. Good luck to you, it sounds promising! Fingers crossed.

dulwichdays · 03/03/2018 15:18

I must admit I had similar symptoms and cramping this past month (1st since MC) as I did the month I got my BFP. Whether it was hormones or wishful thinking I’d basically convinced myself I was pregnant. Sadly not. I also found that my cycle was longer than normal by about 4 days, which doesn’t seem uncommon either. Just waiting for my FW for this cycle now and decided not to monitor BBT or OPK and try and just go with the flow. Does anyone else avoid monitoring??

Fingers crossed for you both @Llondbol and @pumpkinpatch000 - until AF arrives you’re still in with a chance! X

Llondbol · 03/03/2018 15:35

Mother nature's a cruel mistress @dulwichdays - my AF and pregnancy symptoms are so similar. I've heard a lot about cycles being longer too so more than likely will be that. My MC was mine and my fiancé's first pregnancy so I'm definitely going to be a little more hopeful each month as we know we can get pregnant, where as before it was all completely unknown. Hope we all get our next BFPs soon x

dulwichdays · 03/03/2018 15:39

@Llondbol - it was our first pregnancy too, and took us 5months to achieve. How long had you been trying for?

Most days I try to remain positive that we managed to get pregnant, but there’s that nagging doubt at the back of my mind of whether we will be able to again!

I think for me, when I’m too focused or stressed I’m much more aware of symptoms, so never fully sure if it’s Just in mum head 😳!
