Positive on cb digital but no line on waitrose test

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice/ reassurance. Yesterday got a bfp on cb digital - saying pregnant 1-2 weeks. I think I’m 14dpo today. I didn’t test earlier as I had a mc in nov and didn't want to get my hopes up.
Anyway, I did a waitrose test this morning with fmu- because I just wanted to see a line and nothing. I’m confused. Any thoughts? TIA

I had a few negative results on cheap £1 pregnancy tests when I was very early on (not that I'm saying the Waitrose ones are cheap) so bought some more as I was a week late and only a very faint line came up. Apparently you can get a false negative pregnancy test but not a false positive. I got a clear blue and it said 2-3 weeks. It may be that there's not enough of the pregnancy hormone in your wee for the Waitrose test to detect. Fingers crossed for you Smile

Thank you Smile I was so excited to see the word 'pregnant' so rushed out to buy more tests - ttc def has made me crazy! No idea if waitrose tests are any good - it was just the closest shop.
I'm going to trust the cb and stop testing (at least for the rest of this week!)

In the early days you'll get a variety of results depending what test you use as lots of them test for different levels of hormones. If I remember right, Superdrug own brand were one of the most sensitive and likely to give an early positive. Maybe the Waitrose test is one of the less sensitive. Either way, a positive is a positive so congratulations Smile

Thank you! Smile

I got a faint but clear positive on a FRER, a 1-2 weeks on a CB digital and... nothing on my Waitrose test (at 11 dpo). When I re-tested a week later I had a faint but clear line.
They're definitely not the most sensitive tests out there.
Like you I've had mcs, the anxiety over tests is ridiculous but I'd go with that CB.
Congrats on your bfp & I hope it all goes well.

Thank you Smile that's very reassuring. Just so happy that it's finally happening

I used to work for the makers of CB. They also make the majority of the hospital and supermarket tests as well. The CB Digital detects a much lower amount of hCG than the waitrose one. So yes you are pregnant, (you cannot get false positives as hCG is ONLY present if you ARE pregnant) its just that the Waitrose one wont detect the hCG for about another week yet. Congrats! x

Smile that's lovely to hear- thank you! Eeek I'm so excited!

Did the Waitrose test have one line or nothing at all? I'd buy a first response just to be sure

itsjess · 22/02/2018 19:58

It did have the control line - so it was a valid test - I've just checked the sensitivity - it's a 25ml one - I think the cb digital is 10ml so fingers crossed all is good

peeonastickaddict · 22/02/2018 20:10

How do you check the sensitivity?

lolli18 · 22/02/2018 20:25

I think the Clearblue are 25ml too

itsjess · 22/02/2018 21:11

For the waitrose one there was a table in the leaflet showing accuracy of result and it shows that the test is 25ml but I couldn't find that info on the cb leaflet. I'm going to try and stop testing and go and see my gp next week. Hopefully things will be a bit clearer by then

Hopefully you get some answers soon Smile

unicorncow · 05/03/2018 01:41

@itsjess any update?

itsjess · 05/03/2018 06:27

@unicorncow I got a line on a faint line on the other waitrose one a few days later and my cb digital went to 2-3. I've not tested again since but I've seen gp and my edd is nov 1st so I'm going with that and staying positive (!)SmileSmileSmile thank you for asking
