Fever during 2ww - help!

Hi all,

Ok, I feel a little silly posting this but should I be concerned that I had a fever (temperature of 38.8) for about 24 hours during my current 2ww? I picked up two-day flu virus from DS and am fretting about whether this could have a) ruined my chances of getting pregnant this month and b) whether it will have caused any harm if I am. It started on Monday evening, was probably at its worst yesterday, but I am feeling loads better and my temperature is now back to normal.

I estimate I am about 11DPO. Any past experiences, advice or reassuring words for this old worry wart would be gratefully received!

You will be fine :)

While some viruses and illnesses can harm the foetus, your generic ‘god I feel shit and I’ve got a low fever’ type won’t go any damage. Ditto notovirus, coughs and colds. Actual proper flu can be dangerous later in pregnancy so do get a flu jab in T2 or whenever they say is suitable, and make sure you take the whooping cough jab and tdap if offered.

Oh Backenette, thank you so much for your reassuring words. This is our second cycle of TTC DC2 and there's always something that comes up that makes me feel anxious. I'll try to put this all to the back of my mind now and keep my fingers crossed for a BFP! Thanks also for the advice regarding jabs - I absolutely will do!

I’m currently end of trimester one. Toddler ds has brought home bug after bug after bug and Dh has brought home more from the office. I’ve been sick as a dog since December. Babs is apparently fine 👍

You might conceive, you might not but thats just luck of the draw. Good luck!
