Hey ladies hope your all having a lovely weekend I really need your advices i have the nexplanon and Iv had it for about 3 weeks and I already hate it I want it out but I know if I go and say I want it out they basically gonna just laugh at me and turn me away, what do I need to say to them so they have no choice but to take it out? I was thinking about telling them that “me and my partner are wanting to try for a baby so I need it removed” any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

They won’t laugh but will probably say that three weeks isn’t very long, given that you probably did research into why it was something you thought would suit you before getting it done. It doesn’t suit everyone but I think with any contraception your body needs an adjustment time.

Ultimately though if you no longer want it, it’s your body so you have the right to have it removed. You can get that done at a sexual health clinic if you don’t want to go to your gp practice.

You don’t need to lie, just be honest and say you don’t like it. They might try and persuade you to give it a bit longer as it takes time to settle down but if you really want it out they should take it out for you.
