I'm having a very strange period this month and I assume it's just because my body is getting back in to the swing of things after coming off the pill, but your thoughts and experiences would be helpful.
I stopped my last pill at the beginning of December, had my normal withdrawal bleed on the 11th Dec and then got my first period on the 10th Jan, so a 31 day cycle. It started off fairly light, got heavy for a couple of days and then got lighter again. It lasted 7 days with a bit of period pain the first couple of days. It all seemed pretty standard.
Then this month I was waiting and waiting for AF to arrive after having period pains on and off for a week. Finally started on Tuesday at the end of CD34. Had a very small amount of fresh blood. Wednesday I had a bit of period pain, but I only had a very small amount of bleeding, mostly when I wiped and it looked like it was old blood. Thursday and yesterday I had no period pains, and only very small amounts of bleeding again. In fact yesterday I didn't even have anything when I wiped and just a tiny amount of spotting, followed by today when again it's been very light bleeding again.
I have no pregnancy symptoms so I'm reluctant to do a test. I don't want to get worked up to do one and get disappointed by the BFN. But this is the weirdest period I've ever had. Even on the pill I would bleed a fair amount.
Have any of you had really weird periods after coming off the pill? How long did they take to get back to normal? Is this an indicator that I might not have ovulated? (I don't do OPKs or temping).
And is there any point doing a pregnancy test, or had I best not get my hopes up?
