Obviously the only important thing to us is having a healthy baby, and we would be over the moon either way, but DP already has a boy so we thought it would be nice to try and sway for a girl.

Anyone else giving this a go or have tried it? We're not taking it too seriously, but reading up on it is quite interesting.

(I'm totally aware that there will be some of you out there that will be like who-gives-a-crap-what-the-sex-is-just-give-me-a-baby, so sorry if my question is annoying!)

It's definitely nonsense and been thoroughly debunked I'm afraid. For a proper scientific review - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1440662/

Admittedly it won't cause any harm if you want to give it a go, but I would be cautious of potentially reducing your chances each month by not having sex when you could be fertile - especially as even if you get a positive OPK you never really know exactly when you'll ovulate after that and the egg only lives for 12 hours.

There will always be people who say it worked for them but remember that they had a 50% chance of either sex, so 25% of people trying this will get what they want and are more likely to espouse the virtues of it than those it didn't work for!

Good luck TTC x

Yep. Load of old shite!

No method is tried-and-tested. Those who did get a girl on this method have no way of knowing whether it was the method or just luck.

@Miserablemouse ahhh thanks for the link!!

@Bubblegum89 😂

Well I think that solves that one then! X

I think if you aren’t taking it seriously then there’s no harm in trying for fun but honestly it’s a load of shit

Does.Not.Work. (see username! Wink )

If you're really interested in swaying, check out the BabyDust Method on Facebook and buy the book on amazon. It has a 94% accuracy rate if followed correctly, no expensive diets etc, and you don't even have to buy the book unless you're interested in the science behind it.

Thanks @millie, feeling a bit naive for believing it!

@3boys haha! Did you try it with all 3?? My sister has 3 gorgeous boys and 1 dog and bloody hell I don't know how she does it. I think the dog (jack russell cross chiauau) is the hardest bit.

@fuckmyuterus cheers, I will have a tentative look. Love the name btw.

Haha! Mine are like a tag team - it would be hard to pick just one that is the hardest work. Wouldn’t swap for the world though, they are all fab. crazy, but fab
