Hi,

The same thing happened to me. I tested right after and there was a line (darkish) then it got fainter as the days went on and then was gone when I "should" have been ovulating.

I've just posted a q about this as I'm confused. It's possible to ovulate straight after AF but when reading up it appears to be only when you have a short cycle (mine's long).

Leg me know how you get on x

Hi @Louise5263 do you have a photo of ur ovulation test ? Mine is visible darker than the others but again I'm only 4 days past af so confused xx

Most people have a positive opk for about a day. You are likely to get a positive about two weeks before af is due. Anything but a test line at least as dark as the control line is just negative.

Ovulating generally happens 12-72 hours after a positive opk.

So that means you will get negatives all but (about) one day per cycle.

Ttc takes patience...

@physicskate hi I'm aware of trying to conceive takes time I've been trying for 8 months now and using ovulation test but this has only recently happened all the other time it been normal so hence the question .

Some times when I test also I just get one negative line rather than a faint second

I believe the best time to use an opk is around 2pm-5pm. If you only test once a day, perhaps try testing a little later in the day and see if you get a darker line? When I was using opks I did them twice a day at 12pm and 5pm and usually caught my surge on the later one.

physicskate · 15/02/2018 18:09

If you're only 4 days past af, I wouldn't expect a positive, which is what you seem to be expecting. How long is your cycle?

Both those opks are negative.

If you've been ttc that long, well done getting to know your body. Opks are a useful tool for that. But they are only one tool. Maybe try taking your bbt... that's one other tool.

Kirstylee95 · 15/02/2018 18:16

@physicskate I've spoken to a dr about ttc for 8 months and they said contraception which I was on for a long time can affect people body in different ways and I've only just started having regular cycles hence why I test so early I never expect it to be positive at all but better to get to no my body as my cycles are all over the place

Just google bbt. There is loads of info out there.

BifsWif · 15/02/2018 20:13

I agree with a PP, I only ever got positive ovulation tests in an evening. Good luck for next month.

Barney13 · 01/02/2020 18:14

Does anyone know if ovulation occurs in the first month after miscarriage? I have been testing, its dark but not as dark as the control line.
