first time posting on here so new to this!
many of my friends recently have been becoming pregnant, and its making me feel broody! but am i too young?!
my and my partner have been together nearly 4 years, we're close to having enough money for deposit on our own house, but we currently live together at his parents house in an annexe they have.
He's 24, and I'm 21, when is it too soon to have a baby? he doesn't want to wait too long as he doesn't want to be an 'old' dad, but we don't want to start trying if it's too soon for us.. help?

I don't think he needs to worry about being an 'old' dad, 24 is so young! I think average age for a first baby is now 30.
I don't think you can ever be totally ready, but at 21 I wouldn't have even entertained the idea personally. I saw my early-mid twenties for lots of travelling and time with my boyfriend/husband and friends whilst building my career and saving up for our house. It was only at 28 I felt sort of ready for the immense responsibility and life change that a baby brings.

I had my first at 23. You're on your way to getting a house, I'd get that sorted first, just to have your own space and be able to parent how you want. If it's what you both want then go for it!

You're close to getting your deposit so my advice would be to hang fire until you're all moved in and settled in your own home.

I know first hand how stressful a move whilst pregnant/have a baby can be.

All the best for the future!!

thankyou for the replies!
Our careers are both good and stable, and we're both over the whole going out on weekends etc, we're much happier staying in together watching crap tv! So i won't feel like we'll be missing out on anything with that.
Living in cornwall with the house prices down here is the worst part of it all! having to pay over £250,00 just to get atleast a 2 bedroom semi-detached! we'll get there in the end hopefully! Grin
