Is it possible to know this early!?!?

I feel like I'm going mad! I really think I conceived recently i.e in the last week, I have no real reason to think this, no physical signs, apart from being tired!
I wasn't trying to get pregnant, quite the opposite, I was on the pill!
I just feel pregnant if that's possible! I feel different, odd, it's soo hard to explain!
I keep telling myself not to be so stupid!!lol but I must believe it on some level because I have stopped taking my pills "just incase!"
I never had anything like this last time round.
Please someone tell me I'm not losing the plot!!

I knew I was Pg the day after DS3 was concieved because I "felt different, odd" as you say.

The young man is 10 months old now.

em

CP3 · 30/07/2004 15:39

Sorry meant to say that i just knew too, very early. An odd feeling, nothing i could put my finger on

Snugs · 30/07/2004 15:52

Might sound mad, but I told DH I was pregnant 10 minutes after we finished, well, you know what

He laughed his head off - until I showed him the little blue line on a stick 14 days later!

maddymum · 30/07/2004 16:06

Ok so maybe I'm not mad then Pregnant maybe, not sure which one I'd prefer! lol how terrifying!! certainly wasn't planning on this!

One other thing maybe someone can help me with, how soon can I now do a pregnancy test? Having been on the pill I don't know if I can rely on periods etc. Is there a set time from conception to when a positive will show?

Thanks all

Maddy

Can't remember what brand test I used but on the pack it said as early as 19 days from conception. I couldn't wait so tried at 2 weeks and got a faint but clear positive.

maddymum · 30/07/2004 17:25

Thanks snugs, I might try in about a fortnight then

smellymelly · 30/07/2004 18:17

I got a positive 10 days after conception.

maddymum · 30/07/2004 19:19

What brand test did you use smellymelly?

I got morning sickness incredibly quickly, not badly, but just a weird nausea I'd never had before...I'm sure I shouldn't even have ovulated by then really, so don't know how I was pregnant, but sure enough at the end of the month I did a test and I was.

Seabird · 30/07/2004 21:13

Maddymum, I tested positive 12 days after I ovulated (CD25) with a First Reponse test and a Clear Blue (one of those that says "Pregnant" in words).

Mind you that was only last Weds - I still won't feel completely pg til after tomorrow, when AF is due. (Hasn't stopped me starting a "Due in April" thread though )

I kind of "knew" as well - despite lack of physical symptoms. Unlike with DD when I hadn't a clue.

maddymum · 30/07/2004 21:23

oh JiminyCricket I have a strange tummy feeling! lol not sickness, not quite nausea, just a bit wishy washy, that could be anything I suppose, maybe reading too much into things.
I was completely unawares with DD, until it was blatantly obvious too seabird, so not sure why I would be so aware now!
It's driving me crazy, I need to know! lol

I had the same feeling 10-15 minutes after dh and i finished. I felt completely different throughout my body.
Had no pains. Only a pulling sensation in my tummy. I was completely tired for 2 days.
refer my thread on "TTC-Symptoms-Need Suggestions".
The only difference is, I have not been pg before. And so, would not know, how it feels to be pg.
Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry maddymum for the delay - enjoying married life!!

I used Easistix (spelling?) from Poundland - £1 for a pack of 2.

Then 11 days after conception used clearblue digital! I am having twins though so lots of hormones to detect. With my single pregnancies I have tested postive at 11 dpo, and 12 dpo!

But there are women who don't test positive until their af is days late. And also it can change from negative to positive overnight!

I normally test 1st morning wee, whatever the packet says, to be sure of a strong sample!

maddymum · 03/08/2004 17:59

Thanks smellymelly I might try the clearblue one.
It will have been a week from conception today, any recommendations on when I should test?
I was due for a pill break, and period, on saturday. no period, but not sure what to make of that, as they're not real periods when you're on the pill anyway are they!?

Maddymummy - Did you miss a pill or have a bug or antibiotics or anything that could stop it working ???? I have had a similar experience ths month - have been late (accidentally) with two of my mini pills (and had sex!!!) and i am convinced i could be!?! Weird isnt it?

maddymum · 03/08/2004 18:47

I havn't had anything that would stop the pill working Tessiebear, but then again I suppose nothing's 100%! lol

I too am sure I'm pregnant with No 2. My big giveaway are my horrendously painful boobs. Am just waiting out to test as my period is not due for another week but after reading when you guys all tested I think I'll give it a go sooner rather than later....it's all very exciting (and will feel quite deflated if it shows 'not pregnant' as I am sure as sure I am and I got it right with my last pregnancy)

smellymelly · 04/08/2004 08:56

Wow - 3 of you all waiting. How exciting!

Please keep us informed...

Pidge · 04/08/2004 09:28

I started getting a weird taste in my mouth about 9 days after ovulation, I was convinced I was pg 3 days before my period was due and tested and got a negative. Felt a right fool! But the taste in my mouth continued to be there, so I tested again 3 days later, it was positive (but boy did you have to peer closely to see the line!). Tested again 3 days after that just to make sure and am now 10 weeks pregnant. So I was right all along!

LucieB · 04/08/2004 10:08

I am really keen to get pg but am currently bf my 6 mth old and have not had a af yet since having her. So its all a bit of a lottery. Used some OPKs last week and although the line one day was pretty strong, it wasn't stronger than the test line.
I also rather prematurely did a pg test today which was of course negative. Need to get some cheap ones !!! Forgot that you usually have to wait a few weeks (is that right) after ovulating! I had a sharp pain in my side a few days ago and some cm although have been getting a lot of that on and off. Very confusing!!!

EvanMom · 04/08/2004 10:12

I knew I was pregnant with ds2 as approx 7-8 days after conception I felt very sick. It lasted 2 or three days. I had exactly the same with ds1 so knew the signs to look for. Oh and with both had very bad period pains about the time my period was due! So I first knew that I was pregnant when I was only THREE weeks pregnant.

rydercup · 04/08/2004 19:35

Hello All

My period is due on Friday and I have used the 'First Response' test today (you can use this 3 days before your period is due as 'most' women have enough of the HCG hormone at this stage). Mine has come up with a faint pink line - suggesting that I am pg with number 2 - very excited but waiting until Friday to repeat and hopefully see a stronger line. I knew about 4 days after conception - my boobs starting tingling and feeling heavy - the last few days I have been very lightheaded and the tiredness is starting already - maybe having been though it all once before I am tuned into the signs. Good luck all

Piffleoffagus · 04/08/2004 19:46

oh wow rydercup, well done to you! And congrats!
