Coming on pill

I’ve been on marvelon for about 3/4 years and have been on the pill for a total of 8 years. Me and partner have now decided to start trying for a baby and I’m just worried about how long I’ve been on the pill for and how long it will take me to conceive. Has anyone else been on the pill for a number of years and managed to conceive within the year? I have also read that periods can be really bad when coming off? Thank you

Loads of people fall pregnant soon after stopping the pill. The pill wears out of your system very quickly hence all the rules about what to do if you miss one. You will have a withdrawal bleed after your last pill and then at some point ovulate and 2 weeks later have a period.
The unknown factor, particularly if you have been on the pill for a long time and maybe since your teens is what your natural cycle is like. Do you have regular periods and ovulate every month or is it more haphazard. You can only wait and see . Most women fall pregnant within 2 years of trying( in fact most do within 1) and the pill in itself doesn't effect fertility. Best of luck.

Rosasaurus- oh wow really, can I ask how long after did you ovulate? Or did you wait till after your first period?

@Rose0804 sure, I came off the pill in September, had that week bleed (not a real period) then my cycle was 28 days as it always had been on the pill. Had my first normal period which was much heavier than normal and I ovulated 13/14 days later. I used Flo the app to track and had sex on the day before and day of ovulation
