Miscarrying?

Hello, I had an early miscarriage in December. I started bleeding on Day 53 and I was confirmed as not pregnant the following week. I got pregnant again straight away, but now on Day 54, I have stared bleeding like last time, except slightly less heavily. I just took the attached, which indicates I still have pregnancy hormone, although the line is a little faint. Do you think I am miscarrying again? 😕

7 weeks, same as last time. I have my booking appointment with the midwife on Monday, so I might just hang on till then and see what she says. I would feel embarrassed going back to the early pregnancy unit again so soon only to be told for a second time after an expensive scan on previous NHS resources that I am not pregnant 😕. I felt like a fraud the first time. I don’t want to feel like that again.

That's not a faint line. The line on the left, the test line which detects HCg is very dark. The light line is the control line.

Re the bleeding, have you tried calling your local EPU?

That's a very strong line. It's the control line that is faint. Bleeding is very common and doesn't always mean a miss carriage. Call the epu they may be able to scan you x will keep everything crossed for you

Still seek advice if you have the slightest of worries, but just to offer some reassurance. I had a big bleed at 7 weeks and did NUMEROUS tests (I was getting obsessed) and they kept getting fainter and fainter but everything was absolutely fine, there was no reason for any of it and my little girl is 9months now

Your test isn’t faint, but definitely seek advice. I’ve had bleeding in healthy pregnancies and miscarriage

Don't worry about using NHS resources, that is the reason they have them! You need to be seen if you've had bleeding especially after you experience in December, please call them ASAP!

I had bleeding on and off, some fairly dramatic, through the entirety of my second pregnancy. I felt like I was always in and out of the hospital getting checked. Don't worry about resources, get yourself checked over, that is what they are there for. The fact you are even considering NHS resources means that you are in no way abusing them. Please don't assume the worst and get looked after.

Get in touch with your local EPU, it’s what they are there for. Honestly the individual cost per ultrasound/EPU visit is extremely low (much lower than an A&E visit if things get worse over the weekend) so please don’t worry about that. They may be able to put your mind at ease, or if it is bad news then at least you’ll know. Figers crossed for you.

Thank you all. I called my local EPU (and spoke to the same lady who dealt with me before Christmas!). She said to monitor at this stage and call back on Friday if there is no change. She tried to keep my spirits up whilst acknowledging that a miscarriage is a possibility. I just have to wait and see. Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and advice. Fingers crossed for a good outcome for all of us 🤞🏻

Sadly, it is another miscarriage for me 😢. But I will dust myself off and try again in a few months. And I know I am so lucky to have DD1 😍
