Hi all, I just a quick question. We have just started ttc no 2 and my question is Can you still conceive the day before your period starts?

We had sex on sat night, period arrives day after. Its been a few yrs since we had to worry about working out dates etc as our first lb is nearly 3 1/2 and up until sat, we were not even thinking about trying for our 2nd. I am 36 OH is 37 so we dont want to leave it much longer. Its time to start doing period maths now to work out dates

No. You can only get pregnant 5 days a month which is three days prior to the egg being released, the day the egg is released and the day after. This is because the egg is only viable for 24 hours and it wouldn't be fertilised the day before your period

Yep, what she said ^

You can’t get pregnant from sex outside of your fertile week. There has to be an egg around to be fertilised and you only ovulate once a month and when you do, you have between 24-36 hours before it stops being viable. After that, you can’t get pregnant, especially not the day before you’re period starts

Your period arriving shows that you aren't pregnant.

No you can't, and as Oyster says, your period turning up confirms it hasn't happened.
