Ladies i know none of you are doctors and i might sound stupid but i’m genuinely confused. I had my 2nd boy in June last year, everything was normal and had the implant in after the normal bleeding had stopped, but before i had a period. Then in december me and and my partner decided we wanted to have another baby soon so had the implant removed on Dec 8th. I’ve not had a period since and took a test this morning that was negative. I want to use a fertility tracker but as i cant work out when my last period was i dont know how to go about it. Help please? Smile

I don’t know anything about the implant in particular, but I guess like other forms of hormonal contraception it can take a while for your cycles to return when it comes out!
Have you tried opks? Any other signs of ovulation since (ewcm etc)? It’s possible you haven’t ovulated yet!

It can take your body awhile to cycle after coming off hormonal contraception. Plus you gave birth less than a year ago!

Your body likely just needs time to create its own hormones.

You could have a visit to your gp for a chat, but they will likely say just wait longer...

Thanks ladies, when i had the implant taken out the doctor said your fertility normally goes back to normal within 24 hours which is why i’m a bit lost..

Hmm, with the pill my Dr told be 6-12 months is not unusual. Not sure why the implant would be different?

Could they have meant that the hormones leave your system within 24 hours? That doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t take longer for your cycles to return...

Hiya. I don't know if this helps but I had my implant out on 13th nov and only had my first proper period on 12 Jan. I think it generally takes a while to get back to normal xxx
