Anyone else gotten a false positive using FRER?? I'm not pregnant, I tested again today on first signal and was completely negative. Took three of them to make sure.

I had one. I went on to do another 3 test all negative plus GP tested. Still no period after 8 weeks so had a blood test to confirm I wasn't!

JustVent · 02/02/2018 19:00

Yeah I have. FRER aren’t all they are made out to be. There’s at least one other person on here who thinks they have had a chemical and I swear it’s just a FRER being rubbish.

Ugh makes me so angry!!!

Catey are you sure its false positive? I've seen you post on other threads that you have since got 2 negatives but when did u do these tests?
I saw on another thread that your about 12dpo, if you have tested later on today rather than fmu and then gone on to do another 2, your urine is probably just not strong enough to detect it on the other 2?

I'd step away for tonight and try again tomorrow and update us all! But I would be pretty sure your are pregnant to be honest :-)

I've had a false positive with these too x

WhyTheHeckMe · 02/02/2018 21:05

How do u know it was a false positive?

The problem with these tests is that they DO detect early. That means that you think your pregnant but you've not even missed a period. Then if you do come on (chemical) you think the test was faulty.

My mum always says back 30 years ago nobody knew they were pregnant till they were around 8 weeks as the doctors usually told them to wait for 2 missed periods then go for a urine test.

So obviously in the mean time if they did have a chemical they never even knew.

It's not always a good thing that we can test so early in my opinion

JustVent · 02/02/2018 21:55

Going by all the other threads, she knows it’s a false positive because her blood test was negative.

False positives suck, I’ve had many of them. That’s why I can’t abide people who screech “a lines a line, you don’t get false positives congratulations!” at every snifter of a line because it’s adds false hope. Those who screech that are arseholes generally in my opinion.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/02/2018 22:22

How many DPO were you when your blood test happened? Could that have been too early? That's definitely a positive test.

WhyTheHeckMe · 02/02/2018 22:26

Read this. She's posted other pics of pregnancy tests she thinks are negative but they also have faint lines on.

Also the blood test you refer to JustVent happened when she was either 6 or 8 dpo so I'm not surprised it was negative
