Keep it short. I had a Surgical Termination two weeks ago due to Acrania diagnoses at 12 weeks. (Termination at 14 weeks) I am still spotting daily and am yet to have my "proper period"

I have been taking the 5mg of Folic Acid for prevention along with Vitamin D. I want to TTC as soon as I've had my first period. Am I being realistic, is this safe?

If you are emotionally ready, then it's safe.

When the spotting has stopped. You risk getting an infection if you dtd too soon after. Sorry to hear you had to terminate. Good luck

Thank you Ladies, I am ready. I have waited so long for this as it is. (I'm young but I've always wanted to be a mum) we have a nice weekend break booked in two weeks I'm hoping I would have had my period and the spotting stopped so we can have a fresh start when we get home x

Very sorry to hear about your termination.

Just a word of warning, I had a tfmr at 14 weeks last year and I didn't ovulate for four months afterwards and it took another couple of months after that for my cycle to get completely back to normal (previously very regular). I hadn't had a problem after previous losses, but they were both around the 8 week mark.

So be prepared that although things might get back to normal quickly, they might not. In retrospect it was probably best for me to have an enforced break from ttc, as mentally I was in no fit state, but you sound in a much better place.

Good luck, I hope you conceive again quickly and have a remarkably uneventful pregnancy.

@FutureFairyCrayon thank you for your message, I'm sorry it took you so long. I have been warned of this. It took a friend of mine a year to regulate so I'm hoping I'll be lucky! Fingers and toes crossed 😩
