I know that sounds ridiculous. But my partner and I have been using condoms and whilst I know they are not 100% protection in the 15 years I've been having sex they've never failed me!

We've not noticed any breaking. The only time I can think of is once he stayed inside after he'd finished for a few mins. But I can't remember when that was and if it lines up with dates! We rarely have sex so not like lots of opportunities for condoms to break!

I've also got this ridiculous paranoid fear as I went swimming last Sunday and some creepy guy was in the pool leering at women as they swam past. What if he got excited and his sperm was in the pool and got to me?!?!

That's so ridiculous even as I type it...

Anyone else got pregnant even though using condoms and not noticing any issues?

You’re not being ridiculous - if it makes you feel any better, I always worry about leaving traces of DH sperm on the loo seat / loo roll after sex and somehow thus impregnating teenage daughters!
Yes, it’s unlikely you’re pregnant after using condoms. But is is possible - and the only sensible answer is to tell you to take a pregnancy test.
(PS It is not possible that you’re pregnant from a swimming pool encounter with a creep!)

This sounds like me writing this lol 😂. What makes you think you're pregnant? Have you missed any periods? Feeling nauseous? Tender boobs?

I had a worry about this about 2 months ago, when we didn't even have sex! His thing just came into contact with my thang iykwim. So I can see where you're coming from.

When was the last time you had sex? And have you had a period since then?

Sorry- this doesn’t help at all, but the swimming pool pregnancy made me snort.

I sometimes get ‘pregnancy panic’. Best thing to do is test. Only way to know.

No experience with condom issues but I'm pretty sure the chlorine in the pool will of kill any creepy guy sperm. Also if it was only a week ago you wouldn't know about it yet as it takes a few weeks to show up on test (I assume you've taken one)

You must have already been pregnant when you encountered gross pool guy.

Thank you for reassuring messages!!!

On Friday I noticed some brown spotting. My period is not due until 2nd Feb and I'm like clockwork so I thought it was odd. The only time I've ever had that was implantation bleeding with my first. So I took a test and thought I saw a whisp of a line. Yesterday I had pale pink on the loo roll when I went to the toilet so took a frer today and am 85% certain there's a line there, still faint.

Where I am in my cycle makes sense for implantation bleeding too if I had got preg somehow.

I wish I could attach a photo of the test but it won't let me as I've got a new account 👎

Implantation occurs between 6 - 8 days after conception which can occur anywhere between a few hours and 5 days after intercourse. So if embryo implanted on Friday (26th) the egg will have probably been fertilised 18th – 20th so could have resulted from a sexual encounter between 13th – 20th.

If your period is due on the 2nd Feb and assuming a ‘standard’ 28 day cycle you would have ovulated around 18th / 19th which fits within the time frame, so assuming you had sex some time near then it is possible. You’d be about 9 / 10 days post ovulation which is about when positive results can start showing up on more sensitive tests.

Just for extra reassurance swimming pool creep falls outside this window so even if he had mutant super hero sperm that managed to survive the chlorine and swim across the pool (several consecutive marathons in sperm scale) they still would not have been able to impregnate you.

The only way to know for sure is wait a few more days and see if you get a stronger line. Hope you get whichever answer your hoping for Flowers

Thanks so much. I've done another frer this morning and no line visible Sad
