ttc with long/irregular cycles

Any advice/shared stories would be greatly appreciated.

I am 28 and we have been ttc for 7-8 months (came off the pill April 2017) but over this time my cycles keep changing, they have gone from 32 days to 38. It is so hard trying to predict when i'm ovulating as it changes every month, this month i am on day 28 and haven't ovulated (i am using the clear blue advanced ovulation test and i am on my 4th day of flashing smiley face). For the last 2 months i have ovulated on day 26. I am worried that every cycle is getting longer and it gets harder to predict when i am ovulating.

If anyone is having similar problems or had and manged tc please let me know.

Hi, I had long and irregular cycles, anything from 35 days to over 50 days! I did clear blue but the flashing smiley face did my head in! I had success through tracking my cervical miscues, as soon as I saw it coming I started using the cheap opks, I soon worked out I was right when period would arrive 14 days later! I have a 3 year old so it works. Good luck

I haven’t been successful yet but in a similar boat coming off the pill in sept and cycles are irregular. I was using Clearblue but it was too expensive so I’ve bought the cheap opks and I use them until I get darker lines and then use the Clearblue to confirm. I found if you just use Clearblue you only look at the smiley face, not the stick and the stick is the better indicator of how near ovulation you are. You could also start temping. However as long as you are irregular you are going to have to keep using the ovulation tests I think!

Thankyou for your replies. It is really expensive using the clearblue! Going to try the cheaper opks but also ive read getting the right vitamins can shorten cycles xx

Hi, I came off the pill in june 2016 and had long cycles (over 40 days). Started taking Angus castus from H&B, one tablet morning and night and my cycles are now much shorter. Typically around 35 days but I have had a 30 day cycle!
Also I did get pregnant on what would have been a 39 day cycle (sadly ended in MMC) so Iong cycles do still mean you can get pregnant so try not to worry x
