HSG on cycle day 14. Is it worth still DTD?

Hi all, I’m having a HSG on Thursday this week. It’s my cycle day 14 and after 3 months on clomid, the last 2 blood tests I’ve had have shown signs of ovulation. My question is, do we have to wait this month or can I pray for late ovulation and try on day 14 after the procedure? Anyone have any experiences with a HSG!?

I know someone who conceived immediately after an HSG. Definitely worth giving it a go, if you feel up to it.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself though - it can be quite an uncomfortable procedure

Thank you NimbleKnitter. It’s quite frustrating having it done on day 14 but I guess you can’t be choosy! I was worried about the implications of getting pregnant after the procedure but having done some reading, it looks like it’s the being pregnant when it’s done that’s the issue. No chance of that. I think I’m a slightly late ovulater so fingers crossed by day 15 onwards I’ll feel OK and we’ll get what we’ve been praying for Smile

Do you mean dtd after the HSG? If so, yes. If you mean before, I wouldn’t. My fertility dr said not to have unprotected sex before the HSG because if there is any possibility you could have conceived, they will refuse to do the test

Yes after as in...the same day 😳 it’s my cycle day 14 and now I’m on clomid it’s probable that I ovulate around the 14 day mark. We’re doing clear blue ovulation tests to make sure we know when ovulation is coming this month. Blood tests on day 21 have shown signs of ovulation last 2 months. Just didn’t want to wait another month if we didn’t have to!

Then yes, I would :) as long as you feel up for it, I know HSG’s are meant to be quite painful and there’s a risk of infection afterwards so I’m not 100% sure what the advice is RE sex afterwards but I don’t see how it would be a problem. Maybe ask the dr when you’re there
