Charting BBT and broken sleep?

Hi all

I'm impatiently waiting for AF to arrive so we can move onto the next cycle...I have previously charted BBT when we were TTC dc1 but didn't bother when TTC dc2. Now we are trying again I'd like to have a better idea of my ov dates but concerned about attempting to chart with broken sleep...(dc2 is only 8 months but not a sleeper and I can be up with him 3-4 times a night 😬)

Does anyone have any advice or experience of this, just want to know if it's worth it really or if it would be so inaccurate I might as well not bother!

Thanks and sorry if it's a silly question!

I don't know scientifically but I would assume it's likely to affect the results. It's meant to be taken when your body has been at rest and with an 8 month old that's probably never! You could keep going with it but use OPKs?

Thanks. I'll carry on using opks. I have varying success with them as I have PCOS , but this month did get a positive on cd20 (although I know they just show a surge and aren't a guarantee that you have definitely ov such as observing a thermal shift would be). Yeah there's no rest where the 8 month old is involved 😂🙈 so probably wouldn't be successful and might cause more anxiety!

I have an answer but it’s a weird one. When ttc #2 I had very broken sleep with #1. I bought a weird child’s arm thermometer off amazon (a Chinese one) that syncs to your phone via Bluetooth. I taped it into my armpit overnight and then took the lowest reading overnight (regardless of time). It was a faff, and not flawless, but it did work
