Passing time in the 2WW - How did/will you tell your OH about bpf?

How did you tell your OH you were pregnant? Did you make it special or just blurt it out? What do those that are awaiting their bpf plan to do?

Hiya - if I end up pregnant this cycle then my husband will find out at the same as me because we tend to huddle round the pregnancy test together! But I know lots of people who do an amazing announcement. I have seen people who buy their older child a "I'm a big brother/sister" t-shirt and see how long it takes for their man to pick up on it (usually takes a while or for someone to prompt him into looking at the shirt!). Or present him with the pregnancy test in a box in a box in a box in a box with a baby grow.

I got my dh a baby names book on the day I found out. It was his birthday, so a perfect cover.

Four days later I got a negative digi and started to bleed. We still have the book.... it sits in a cupboard as a buried reminder.

Haven't managed to get pregnant again. That was in March after ttc 12 months...

We did the test together!! Found out the same time xx

I'll be buying my dh and early valentines card tomorrow and putting a soppy poem I found online in it. I know it's a bit early for vday but I can't wait until then to tell him.

If by some miracle from above I ever actually get pregnant, my OH will know straight away. The second I see a line on a test, I will be a sobbing, snotty, ridiculous mess which I guess is a giveaway. It’s been so long since we started trying that any romanticised presentations of positive tests with “daddy” babygros and all that doesn’t interest me at all tbh lol

No big announcement here. He’s not the kind of guy who would want that or enjoy it. I’ll just let him know and see how we go! He won’t really get excited about it until it’s properly tangible, I think.’

I like the idea of giving a baby names book but I think I'll probably blurt it out. We've been trying for a while now so I think I would be be too suprised to keep it secret for long! We are both quite matter of fact generally so I will probably just tell him.

I phoned him at work to tell him I had just found out. He was a bit shocked and asked
If the test was accurate.

DC#1 I woke him up by thrusting a pee soaked test in his face at 6.30am and saying shit shit shit I think we've done it!!

MC1 DS was only 10 months old so I wandered through to the kitchen with the test and said 'errr you're never guess what...'

MC2 We were out for dinner on my birthday in a gorgeous restaurant. He said 'I love you'. I said 'Would you love me even more if I told you I was pregnant?' Lots of happy tears. When he said 'let's not get carried away just yet', I said 'oh come on, who's unlucky enough to have two miscarriages in a row.' Me apparently.

DC#2 We were paddling in the sea early one morning with our DS. I just blurted it out. He said 'are you sure? really? oh'. He was happy, but after two miscarriages, I think he was reluctant to get excited.

With DD I found out when I was away. He picked me up from the airport, two minutes in the car he turned to me and asked what was wrong because I was quiet. I burst into tears and told him there and then.

With MC I sent him the picture of the positive test as he was working away. It was my birthday so felt like an amazing birthday present.

If we ever manage to get pregnant again i’ll probably burst into tears again and blurt it out.
