Anyone got any positive post early miscarriage stories?

Anyone got any positive post miscarriage experiences?

We have been TTC for nearly five months.

Had a miscarriage at 5 weeks on 26th December.

We returned to TTC as soon as I stopped bleeding.

Now eagerly awaiting AF or am I being to hopefully in hoping for a BFP before AF?

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I know some Drs recommend a period first before trying (mine did over the phone) but as I'm sure it's mainly for dating reasons and we felt ready we continued as we were. It just felt right.

So want I BFP - The last five months has been such an emotional roller coaster.

I literally feel in no mans land at the moment not knowing what to expect.

We tried before AF following my miscarriage but didn’t conceive. Did two months later though

gingerbubs · 15/01/2018 16:54

After my first early miscarriage AF seemed to take an absolute age to return, I think it was a few months. However, after second early miscarriage I did conceive in first month, before having AF, and that pregnancy stuck and is now 6 years old. Have had miscarriages since and usually 2-3 months before conceiving again. So a mixed bag! So sorry to hear about your loss and best of luck x

twobambinos · 15/01/2018 17:39

We tried straight away but didn't conceive. It took us another 4 cycles again. I'm sorry for your loss.

Not a positive experience to share but just wanted to let you know I’m in the same boat and send some support. I too have been scouring the boards for post-MC success stories.

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks on Christmas Day, I’ve finally stopped bleeding and have what I hope will be my last blood test at the EPU tomorrow (HcG was 94 last week but got a negative HPT this weekend so I’m feeling positive) I’ve had regular blood tests as it was officially a ‘pregnancy of unknown location’ but I’m pretty sure I passed the sac last week which coincided with bleeding stopping.

We’re going straight back to TTC but as hormones are all over the place my ‘plan’ is just to DTD as much as possible and keep my fingers crossed that AF doesn’t show. And if it does; well at least then I have a CD1 to work from as I’m in no mans land right now.

Finger crossed for us both xx

Bit of a mixed story from me.

Bad - we actually had 3 early miscarriages, one after another and tests to investigate why.

Good - nothing showed on the tests, we were told it was 'one of those things' and we then went on to have 2 DC with no problems.

mossyroundhill · 15/01/2018 18:11

I had an MMC in July. We conceived again in September and I'm 15 weeks pregnant.
Wishing you lots of luck Flowers

So sorry for your loss. I lost my first, it must be about 10 yrs ago now. I had an ERPC on April 2nd and was pregnant again by the end of April, no AF. He will be 9 next week. Doesn't stop me thinking of the one I lost, but it does get easier.

NC4now · 15/01/2018 18:32

I had a MC at 5 weeks, waited till after my period then conceived on the next cycle. We weren’t really trying - as in no charting, OPK or any of that business. Just DTD around the right time and got lucky.
I realise it isn’t that easy for everyone, and have every sympathy for those who have to wait longer. That’s just my positive story.
I did hear that you’re most fertile after birth or MC but not sure if that’s a myth...

cookielove · 15/01/2018 18:37

I had a mmc in Sept 13, pregnant again in Jan 14, ds born in Aug 14 :)

champagneplanet · 15/01/2018 18:52

I already had 1 DC but four years had passed before I became pregnant again. Assumed i'd be fine as done it before. Ended up having a MMC at 13 weeks. Fell pregnant again two months later only to have another MMC at 12 weeks (i'd had an early reassurance scan at 9 weeks that time).

Twelve months later after some half hearted trying I fell pregnant again, DD2 is now 8 months old.

So sorry for your loss OP Thanks. My doctor said we could try as soon as we felt ready, everyone deals with it differently.

McGilljulie · 15/01/2018 18:55

I am so sorry for your loss Flowers
I had a miscarriage in March and EPRC in April. I took a break from TTC as the timing was wrong for various reasons. Started TTC seriously again in August and fell pregnant straight away.
I wish you lots of luck. I know how heartbreaking an mc is.

Wildestflower · 15/01/2018 18:57

I'm sorry for your loss. I had early losses and was diagnosed with natural killer cells and was treated by Mr S on his protocol. 2 gorgeous DCs.

Daisymalone · 15/01/2018 19:12

Can't give you a positive story yet but just wanted to let you know that I am in almost exactly the same boat as you. Had a miscarriage at 5 weeks beginning on December 20th (got pregnant on 4th cycle) and began trying again immediately afterwards without waiting for a period (wanting to take advantage of the supposed 'increased fertility' immediately after a miscarriage). Af is due tomorrow based on my ovulation date so I have absolutely everything crossed for a happy ending but I'm not sure that the signs are pointing that way.. Onwards and upwards if not though! Good luck, I hope it works out for you x

PrimeraVez · 15/01/2018 19:30

I’m sorry for your loss OP.

I had a very early MC in Jan. I was pregnant again by March. That ended in MMC in May. I too a few months off TTC, mainly because I needed to get my underavtive thyroid back under control but also because I was mentally exhausted by the whol thing. I fell pregnant again in October and am now 18 weeks.

Best of luck - TTC (and pregnancy) after MC is an emotional roller coaster.

Patienceofatoddler · 15/01/2018 22:39

@shutupRuth I'm so sorry your in no mans land to- It's horrible isn't it.

I've actually found the last couple of weeks harder than the physical miscarriage which to some may seem odd.

Wishing you the best of luck in the coming weeks ❤️

Just to say, I had 2 children followed by 12 early MC’s, and had plenty in consecutive cycles. Aside from other issues that suddenly appeared after my first 2 children, I ended up getting my GP to refer me to Mr Shehata’s NHS clinic at Epsom hospital where I tested as having high natural killer cells. 13th attempt for a 3rd baby was our first cycle on prednisolone following his diagnosis, and she’s now 14 weeks old so worth looking into for anyone who has early losses

SnowiestMountain · 15/01/2018 22:50

I had an early MC in January (2012) at almost 7 weeks, was terrified to try again. Conceived at the first attempt in the September, brilliant really easy pregnancy compared to DS who had been a nightmare and now have a fantastic DD.

It's a horrendous experience but can be completely fine the next time around. Good luck Thanks

shutupRuth · 15/01/2018 22:51

@Patience it really does suck doesn’t it? It’s the not knowing and lack of control. Don’t know about you but before this happened I KNEW when I would be fertile, when I would ovulate and when AF was due. Now it’s just fingers crossed and hope for the best. But at the same time as being desperate to conceive again, I’m terrified that this might all happen again and I can’t face going back to where I was 3 weeks ago (don’t know about you but it feels like this has lasted months, not weeks). Feel free to PM me if you want some support, I don’t know anyone irl who has gone through this and it’s a very lonely confusing time xx

RaindropsAndSparkles · 15/01/2018 22:54

What you are going through is shit. BUT we had a five week loss after DS2 was born (and died at 27 weeks). Things didn'tbreturn to normal after the mc as they had after the birth. Saw a gynaecologist privately who suspected an infection and advised not to try again until after investigations/my next apt with him. DH and I had a blazing row about trying again (we had one child and a history of trying and no full term birth). We had to make up Blush.

At the next apt I had to fess up I was pg. That pg had every complication: early bleed, placenta praevia (it moved), breach baby (moved). The consultant often said let's see if we can get to 28 weeks, I had 14 scans and was eventually induced at 41.5 weeks. Labour was 2 hours. She was bright pink, fat and screaming.

She was born 51 weeks after DS2 died. She is lying on the sofa with about two feet of long blonde hair behind her. She got an unconditional offer from Cambridge last Wednesday, so yes op, there are happy endings. I still remember the pain though.

It's heartbreaking but life moves on and eventually one comes to terms with it Flowers.

Hello everyone! I'm on the other mc thread but I had to tell RaindropsAndSparkles that your story made me burst out crying in a really happy way. Thank you xxx

RaindropsAndSparkles · 15/01/2018 23:28

Aah love Flowers.

StargazyDrifter · 16/01/2018 02:36

I had my ERPC today - thank you @RaindropsAndSprkles for the wonderful story and lots of hugs, love and good vibes to @Patienceofatoddler, @shutupRuth and @Daisymalone. Flowers

Oooocrikeyitscold · 16/01/2018 03:00

I remember feeling the same. I’m just BF my 5 month old though (I had two early MC in the space of 4 months and conceive DD 6 months post the first)

Wishing you lots of luck!
