Could anybody who’s more clued up help me with a question? i haven’t had a period since the 11th november (nearly 9 weeks) my cycles are really irregular, anything from 38-80 days the longest one.

my question is if i was pregnant, it would show by now on a test wouldn’t it?

last took one 3 days ago with no hint of a line. just want to know whether to stop wasting them! and also so i can stop wondering (i’m very much ttc)

thank you.

Yeah sorry it should show. Go to the doctors

Mrsw200 · 15/01/2018 06:04

@guiltynetter my last period started on 22nd oct and I only tested positive last Sunday so it is possible. Although I've been dated at 12 weeks because of this I suspect I ovulated very late. I would go to your gp (which is what I was going to do just before my bfp) x

thank you. i feel there’s no point going to the doctors, my cycles have been longer than this in the past, and when i have been about then they weren’t helpful at all, basically told me to go on the pill.

i’m just driving myself mad symptom spotting (sore boobs) and want to know whether to just give it up as it’s been too long since my last period!

I would go again to the doctors from the angle that you’re trying to conceive and your cycles are so long. Mine were 35-45 days in length but the luteal phase was only 8-9 days long which wasn’t enough. It must be very difficult to track ovulation etcwhen the cycles vary so much.

guiltynetter · 15/01/2018 08:20

it is really difficult to track ovulation, probably why we’ve been trying for 2 years 😢 i’ve been to the doctors twice. one said to start taking the pill (erm seems a bit pointless) and the other told me to have sex every other day to cover all bases. but i find that a bit un achievable Blush

I think they’re being overly dismissive of your fertility! After a year of trying, I thought they were supposed to take it more seriously. Every other night for 80 days is not achievable for many!

I would go back to the GP and try again but I’d also give agnus Castus a try. It’s very good for regulating cycles. Mine were very short (17 and 19 days) and AC has sorted them into 27-28 days. I know lots of people who used it for long cycles and it worked for them too.

so this morning i got a positive test Shock keeping it very low key as i’ve had multiple mc. but i knew my boobs were sore! fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed!

@guiltynetter congratulations. You'll be like me wondering whether you are further along or just ovulated really really late!! I'm still in limbo as I don't know whether I'm 12 weeks or 5 weeks! Hmm

guiltynetter · 15/01/2018 16:28

mrsw in an ideal world i’d be a good few weeks pregnant already! but actually i think i’m just around 4-5 and ovulated late, as i’ve done multiple tests and only got a positive today. good luck!

Yep that's what I think too. But as they date from lmp means I've already had my booking in appointment last week and have a scan next week. I told the midwife this and she said it's possible get multiple negatives if hcg is particularly low. Will find out next week I guess! Good luck to you too x

PinkAvocado · 15/01/2018 16:37

I told my midwife that I didn’t know my lamp because I had such irregular cycles but I could give the day I ovulated and she went by that instead. It was very accurate!
