Second month trying to conceive so haven't been trying for long at all, but my god is it bloody stressful!

So I have been using CB opks. Last month I naively started testing too late into my cycle and got blank circles (I didn't realise you had to start testing from a certain day in your cycle 😳). Unsurprisingly didn't conceive so started testing from day 9 this cycle as it said to do on the instructions. It is now day 14 and all I have got is flashing smilies. Did some research online and found some info that said test in the morning and at night as you may miss the LH surge by just testing in the morning. So I tested tonight again just before 8pm and got a solid smiley. Yay, I thought, I am near ovulation.

Just checked the CB instructions again and it tells me testing at night may cause unexpected peaks! 😤😤 So does that mean it was a 'false' peak then?? Surely testing only in the morning means you may miss the surge? Or is that utter rubbish as well? I'm getting frustrated and a bit worried 😔. Someone wiser please explain things to m.

Tbh id test twice a day once you start getting the flashing one. This cycle on cd13 i got a blank circle in the morning with fmu, and a solid smiley 7 hours later. The next morning it was back to blank.

I reckon you're probably okay and it was a real peak... But if I were you I'd use cheap u termed opks as well (a few pence each!) To confirm. I use the clearblue ones same as you and my internet cheapies have always backed up a solid smiley with a positive line... Done it 3 months in a row now so I trust them!

Thank you both so much for replying. Honestly, I never thought trying for a baby would be this stressful! I'm glad to hear others saying they test more than once a day too! I will inform DH then what our evening plans will involve then! And thanks for the tips about the cheapy tests, I may order some as the CB ones are bloody expensive to be buying every month!

Yeh I know - I feel like my mood f9r each day relies on if I got a smiley face, told I have ewcm and if I have a decent temp! What a way to live! 😒
