Ttc #2 exclusively breastfeeding mums- when did af return?

Hi, I’m looking for some help from breastfeedig mummys!

I’m exclusively breastfeeding my little boy (10 weeks old) and dh and I wanted to start trying again in April/May. It took us 15 months to conceive the first time so we want to get trying in case it’s another long journey. If it happens quickly that will just be a bonus!

My question is when did your periods return? Did they only come back after you rescued/stopped breastfeeding?

I night weaned at 7 months and periods returned at 8. Still have days/nights where DS wants feeding more and my periods are so far (had 2) v irregular. I think I read somewhere that periods should come back when you are having a regular 8 hour period each day of no feeding. Obviously that's a rule of thumb and won't apply exactly to everyone. Mine came back before I night weaned. I think around 10 months.

I EBF til my DS was 2 and a half.
It took about 3 months after I had stopped for me to start them again.

7 weeks with DD1 and 12 weeks with DD2. Both were EBF and feeding around the clock at the time.

Periods restarted at 9 months. Was pregnant at 10 months.

Mine came back at 4/5 months despite exclusive breastfeeding but i dont my fertility fully returns until I stop bf as I had a few early miscarriages when ttc no2 whilst still bf no1

Both times mine have come back at 5 months. With DC1 it was around the time she was sleeping longer at night so I assumed it was because of that. With DC2 I was still feeding every few hours so it just seems to be my standard time.

Mine came back at around 5.5/6 months but quite irregular and really short luteal phase. I night weaned at 8.5 months (couldn't do it before because he didn't take to weaning well) and it seems to have increased my luteal phase. We're trying atm so fingers crossed!

Mine came back at 8 weeks- I was hoping I would go longer before it came back!

Mine didn't come back until soon after they were completely weaned at 18 months. By then they were only feeding once a day, but it was enough for me.

I had a really light period when we night weaned then nothing until I stopped completely.

My periods came back when DD was 4 months I think, and I was pregnant with DS when she turned 2 and still bf. My periods came back at 6 weeks with DS.

Periods returned about 14 months. Didn't try to conceive immediately, but was still breastfeeding when I did.
