Still TTC 4-5 months following copper coil removal

First mumsnet post - decided to join in :-)

I was using the copper coil for around 2 and half years and had it removed in September last year. Been TTC since (so 4-5 months of trying) - no luck as yet!

Today DH took a home sperm test and the pink line was positive for over 15M - which makes me wonder if there's a me problem... or perhaps I just need to be a little more patient!

Can I please ask what others think? I'm 33 and DH is 40, and would be ecstatic to become pregnant for the first time. Has anyone else used the copper coil and taken more than a few months to conceive? Any advice welcome :-)

More patience needed. Totally normal for it to tak a year to conceive.

I'm at 22 months ttc after copper coil.

Can't comment on copper cool but up to 12 months is totally normal - are your periods regular and are you tracking ovulation at all? That's all I did and despite being told I would struggle to conceive at all, we got pregnant very quickly (with twins). I was extremely lucky, that's not very common! I was also 33.

I conceived age 31 after having the copper coil in for 9 years. We took around 5/6 months I think. Age 33 I took around 8/9 months to conceive.
Up to a year is definitely considered normal. I dont think the copper coil affects fertility at all after it is removed as there hasn’t been any hormones.
But try hard to have a regular healthy sex life, take your folic acid etc but don’t obsess. Hard though it may be.

Thanks so much for your responses. I will try to be patient and chill. My periods are just about regular, but what I have noticed is that when I use the ovulation sticks I get the LH surge a couple of days later than a normal prediction - hopefully this isn't too late for normal implantation to occur. I really appreciate your thoughts. Best of luck to others TTC.
