Symptoms of stopping the pill?

Came of the pill in November. Still patiently waiting for an AF or a BFP however weird things are happening. I’m convinced it’s a symptom of stopping the pill and hormone increases. The other half is saying he thinks it’s more. So ladies who stopped taking the pill what symptoms did you have and how soon after and for how long. I’ve googled but mostly it takes about bloating, cramps and spotting.

Symptoms I’m getting now are: keep waking up to pee (I never do this!), boobs that are massive (to me) with blue veins on the top and sore at the sides (tissue sore rather than nipples), really wet ‘down there’, and feel bloated.

I know the only way to know for sure is to test. Checked this morning and it’s negative today. I think if I ovulated it would have been between the 1.1.18 to 4/5.1.18 however so likely too soon to know anyway. Mostly I just want to know what people experienced coming off the pill.

I came off mini pill and of July and didn’t have my first bleed until September. The symptoms I experienced were cramping like I was due to start my period and heavy sore boobs. Then once I had my first period all those symptoms went. I don’t generally get sore boobs or cramping before a period but I never did before I went on the pill either. I guess you’ll have to keep testing once a week until you get a bfp or period. Good luck

I'm the same! Stopped my mini pill 5 weeks ago and no sign of AF. Had mild cramps, back ache and sore boobs over last 3 weeks but they seem to have stopped now. I took a test on 8th Jan which was negative.

I'm going to test every 2-3 weeks I think. Just want to get AF so I know everything is working again x

Came of my pill November had withdrawal bleed then came on as normal 4 weeks later!! Positive ovulation sticks end of December soooo should be due on again over the weekend,hoping I don't but it's first month so I doubt very much I will

It’s annoying isn’t it. I seriously doubt I conceived too since I haven’t even had an AF yet but woke up last night with it like niagra falls ‘down there’ when I know my potential fertile week has gone. Had 5 flashing faces on the ovulation sticks from Christmas onwards but ran out before I got a static. I think it’s just a weird hormone thing.

Hi, i came off the pill last March after about 10 years with no break. I had normal withdrawl bleed then nothing for ages, about 40 days i think but didn't really have any symptoms. It took a good few months for my cycles to settle back to normal. I think your body goes in to a little bit of shock after coming off the pill and your hormones are all over the place which are likely causing the symptoms you are getting.

Same as me I came off the pill which I had been on for years with no break in Mid Dec.... Been feeling exactly the same as you, really sore boobs and keep peeing too! I had a withdrawal bleed over Christmas but haven't had anything since... We are using protection until my AF comes so we have an idea and the midwife does in the next few months of dates etc... when we get trying for our first!

Oooh and the only other symptom which I've been having is 'Heart Palpitations' which is worrying but apparently normal 🙄

@Karigan1 what pill did you come off of?
I was on cerelle which was a mini pill. I came off in November and have had two periods since then and am coming up to my next FW xx

It was regividion. Combined pill. I imagine it might be easier coming off the mini pill?

Mine was regividion too what I came off after 7 years everything returned as normal xx

I was in it for 2.5 years roughly. Hopefully things will go back to normal or a BFP soon.

I came off rigevidon last January and I had bloating, swollen boobs, itchy/tingly nipples and spots on and off for about 3 months.

Stopped the mini pill on 10the Dec 2017. No period as of yet, tested on 8th Jan 2018 and it was negative. I've had some mild stomach cramps recently.
Does anyone have any advice about when to start doing OPK? I've no idea where I am in my cycle- do I use one every day? Thanks x

Hi Mumready, do you get any signs? I wait for the nipples to get tender at the moment and then test as I haven’t had an AF since November!

Signs are nipple tenderness showing increas of oestrogen, increased discharge, increased libido and if your really aware you could check cervix position. At ovulation time it’s soft and open. Rest of the time it’s firm and closed.

The only symptoms I've had are sore boobs about 3 weeks ago, back ache last week and mild cramps this week.
Increased Sex drive I think but probably want to DTD lots to increase chances of conceiving.

I might start doing an OPK every other day- just bought some cheapies today

Yup, having all of the above. I stopped because my relationship ended so I dont even have anyone to get the benefit of the increased libido etc!

Everything you’re experiencing is totally normal as your hormones sort themselves out after stopping the pill. Don’t forget, the “periods” you have when on the pill are artificial so the pre af symptoms you had on the pill will bear no resemblance to those you have naturally...

I had loads of cm and really sore boobs before af when I came off the pill and was convinced I was pregnant as had nothing like this when on the pill! I wasn’t though, I just hadn’t felt my “ normal” pre af symptoms for so many years as the pill basically masks them...

Quick question: has anyone had those Montgomery tubercular come up as a stopping the pill symptom. Got bumps round my nipples now that I’m sure werent there before but still BFN!!
