Peak fertility on cycle day 6

Hi all, I had a very long (for me) 33 day cycle last month so decided to test cycle day 4 for ovulation this time around. So I’ve had two days of empty circles on my CB advanced digital but today (cycle day 6) I’ve just got a solid smiley, so It’s missed out the flashing smily?! Just wondering what this means, is my cycle rubbish if I ovulate so early? Should I not have had a flashing smiley first? Ahhhh so confused! Please help 😊

Bump anyone? 😁

Maybe you’re testing too early and that’s why the results don’t make sense? I would restart a bit later in your cycle. For a 29 day cycle I start on CD9 so I would imagine it would be even later for you.

Mmm maybe but the test line is as dark as the control line, surely that’s a positive ovulation test? What do you think?

I think flashing is measuring Estrogen and non flashing smile LH. LH signifies possible ovulation so just dtd and see what happens ;)

Are you using Clearblue? If so it’s more likely your machine hasn’t gotten used to your cycles yet. First couple of cycles, unless you are bang on 28 day, you should dtd every other day as soon as the period stops.

Thanks for the reply. RavingRoo yes I’m using Clearblue advanced ovulation tests (not the expensive monitor)

Hi Try

I'm not sure and I don't currently track my cycles but I had some ewcm on day 8 and thin / stretchy cm the following day indicating I'm gearing up or have ovulate and thought this was too early as my ovia app said I'm entering my fertile week tomorrow so not due to ovulate until Thursday. Im not sure what is going on now as have a tiny bit of cm that is clear but tacky.

Just wanted to say you're not the only one not knowing what your body is doing!! :)

I have been using these for the first time this month too and also had the same thing. The instructions did say if your estrogen rise isn’t detected or the estrogen rise and LH surge happen close together then you might not see a flashing smiley face.

Only thing you can do is presume you are about to ovulate and dtd as much as possible! Finger crossed it works!

RNBrie · 08/01/2018 14:02

You can have more than one lh surge a month, it can go up and down until the peak and even after the peak it can still fluctuate. The machine isn't programed to allow for that though so might give you shit results for the rest of the month.

I had a clear blue machine and I binned it after a couple of months. It was bad for my mental health. If you must pee on sticks then at least get the internet cheapies rather than paying £1 a go. You're taking it apart to see the lines anyway so you might as well just buy the cheap ones!

RavingRoo · 08/01/2018 14:03

Ah ok. Not sure then. You don’t have pcos right?

RavingRoo · 08/01/2018 14:03

Pcos can make all the clearblue tests wonky apparently

Trytrytry2018 · 08/01/2018 15:03

Thanks for your replies ladies. RavingRoo no I don’t have PCOS - had my overies all checked when I had my surgery to remove my ectopic pregnancy. They removed my left tube aswell - I wonder if this is the reason for my odd cycles?
