Ovulation tests - testing after miscarriage

Hi. I recently had a miscarriage which started on 22nd December and had my BFN on Friday.
I’ve never used ovulation tests before but since we’ve been trying for our second child since February last year I thought it might help to speed things up.
My last period started on 20th November.
Does anyone have experience of using ovulation tests after miscarriage? I usually have a 28 day cycle so should test from day 8 but is this day 8 from when my bleeding started for the mc or from when I got a negative pregnancy test? I was still testing positive on pregnancy tests last Tuesday so surely I won’t have ovulated whilst my HCG levels were still high?

OPK today was negative.

Firstly sorry for your loss. I think it will depend on how far along you were when you had your miscarriage. I had a miscarriage which started on the 19th Dec but I was only 5 weeks along so by the time the bleeding had stopped 5 days later I was already testing negative again. I counted the first day of bleeding as a new cycle and ovulated on CD 15 which was exactly in line with when I should have ovulated if it had been a normal period. I'm not sure how the levels of hormone would affect ovulation if they were much higher to start with however. Good luck this month, I hope things work out for you x

Hi @Daisymalone I’m not entirely sure how far along I was. I think it was 4+4 weeks as that’s the day I had my BFP (clearblue digital said 1-2 weeks) and I started bleeding an hour later (talk about a rollercoaster! We started celebrating to then have almost instant disappointment!).
The bleeding stopped after 5 days but I took another test 2 days after the bleeding to confirm the pregnancy was over and had 2 more BFPs (clearblue digital again, this time saying 2-3 weeks!). So my HCG levels had risen during my miscarriage. I still had a positive at 6+4 weeks but a 3 negatives the following day.

So in short I’d guess I was 5 weeks as a guide like you. I’m wondering if I’ve missed the boat with TTC this month. So annoying. I only found out it was a definite miscarriage on Friday at my EPU appointment as I’d developed lots of symptoms and with the BFPs we thought maybe it was a multiple pregnancy and I’d lost one.

It’s been 17 days since the bleeding started for my mc but only 2 days since I got my BFN so not sure if I’ve missed it or I maybe haven’t ovulated yet. So confusing!! We’re trying everyday at the moment just in case though :)

I think I may have missed the boat this time. Another negative OPK today but the line has almost gone whereas the last 2 days there’s been a very faint second line. Maybe I ovulated last week before I knew I’d had a miscarriage. I’ll test again tomorrow but if that’s still negative with no line I might just wait for my next period.

I’m so bloated at the moment! I look pregnant and have all the symptoms from when I was expecting my daughter. With my last miscarriage all the symptoms stopped after the bleeding. This time they’re continuing! :(
