Please help! Confusing situation with FRER!

Apologies first of all that I have posted this on my currently running thread in AIBU but have reposted here as a first post in order to pick the brains of you lovely TTCers.

So AF was due today, and early this morning I did a FRER and got a BFN. HOWEVER when I wiped, as I was waiting for the test, I saw pink on the toilet roll so I'm really not sure I waited long enough for the test result to develop - just got pissed off because I assumed it was AF and shoved the test in the cupboard.

ANYWAY then I have had no further blood since 4am (when I did the test - it's now 10.30pm. So that's weird because if it were AF I should at least have spotting by now. And THEN I had a look at my FRER from this morning and there is a definite faint pink line!! Now I know it's way after the test window but could this possibly be a BFP after all? Or could it be an evap line? I've read that evap lines are usually grey, but this is definitely pink.

ARGGHH So confused!! Thoughts please?

Sounds promising, take another test in 4 hours or so (don’t drink too much) or take another test in the morning. Let us know how you get on! Can you post a pic?

I can't post a pic unfortunately as DH is asleep next to me and I don't want to disturb him, but we definitely can both see the line and it's definitely pink, not grey.

I will have to take one in the morning now as it is 11.15pm here, but I definitely will!!

This happened to me. Was definitley bfn in the morning then when I checked it hours ago there was a clear PINK line, not anything like the grey shadow evap type line you get after so long. Tested again that afternoon and got a faint bfp and I'm now 5 weeks

Thanks all, I will test again in the morning and update you - it will be around 10pm this evening uk time!

The frer is really good but it can sometimes take a few minutes for the colour to develop so there's a good chance you have a BFP, good luck for retesting

OK so I tested this morning, looked at the test in the correct time frame...

THERE IS A SECOND LINE!!

It is really super faint but I am so excited!

Ah @Owlpatrol thankyou, I'll be keeping my fx tightly for you for this month! Definitely about time you got your well deserved bfp this month!!

Thanks all! Sadly it looks as though I'm not out of the woods yet - I have started a new thread in Conception called 'me again! BFP (yay!) but confused and worried about HCG levels' (sorry can't link on phone) - would appreciate any responses x
