City Fertility and fertility clinics

Hi all

This is my 1st time posting....I froze my eggs when i was 38 (now 44) and went with CRGH. I am going to be using donor sperm but found that CRGH were not very helpful and my consultant Dr Abramov moved and started City Fertility. I'm really unsure about this whole process given that I'm going to be doing it on my own but it just feels that all these clinics want to do it continue to charge lots of money for not doing very much (or is that just me?) I had no idea who to go through so went back to him as he was quite helpful when I was at CRGH. I have now identified a sperm donor but it all just feels that every time I go for an appointment anywhere all anyone wants is more money from me and the list of tests gets longer and longer and I've also just got no idea how fertile I am but doing all of this on my own feels that its all just very hard work with a lot of hoops to jump through with very few compassionate people at any of these fertility clinics who only seem to be interested in taking my money!
Is it just me? Am I doing the right thing doing it on my own? Is City Fertility the best place to work with given that I'm using my own eggs and has anyone got any advice as I'm about to start the process of trying to get pregnant - any thoughts / wise words would be much appreciated as I feel very alone in this process.
