Change in my cycle? Is it normal?

I had a mc in Oct at 6 weeks. Up until then my cycles had been 33-35 days for at least 6 months, af would last 4/5 days and be heavy but not as bad as when I was on the pill.

Now after the mc my cycles have been 41 days then 45 days and very very light. As in I only need to wear a tampax on the first day then only when I wipe.

Is it normal for them to change so dramatically? I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to get some tests done as we have been ttc for 15 months now.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

My cycle changed after my mc. I used to be bang on 28 days & since the mc in September I've had 35, 31, 25 and 31. Currently cd27.

I've read that it can take a while for everything to settle down again. Fx you get some answers tomorrow x

Hormones eh?

My gp wouldn't run tests at the 12 month mark as I'd had a chemical which meant I had conceived. The GP told me to have more miscarriages or wait another year before he would run tests. He was a real charmer.

I hope they help you - I was expecting help at that point and my world fell apart when they wouldn't help me at that point. So be aware that not all GPs would offer you help at this point in your 'journey'. I think I would have handled it better if I had even been aware of the possibility of no help at that point.

@physicskate
Luckily my gp took bloods at 12 month mark and I fell pregnant that month then mc two days later.
Hoping when I go back they will be happy to do more tests. It was him that said you’ve been trying a year now so let’s do some tests.
Fingers crossed.

Totally normal. I have always had a regular 28 cycle whether I was on or off birth control. That didn’t change when I decided to start ttc in December last year. In September, my cycle suddenly changed to 34 days. October it was 26 days and November it was 31 days. Then in December it was back to 28. No idea what happened or why it happened but it did but it seems to be back to normal now. As if our bodies don’t put us through enough stress when we’re ttc!

Saw my gp and he said it’s normal for them to be messed up for a couple months after mc. I’ve to go in on the 15th for bloods then again on the first day of my period for the next 3 months to confirm I’m ovulating again x

Squiggly - what tests are these?? That sounds odd. There is no cd1 test to determine ovulation...

squiglyline · 07/01/2018 19:39

@physicskate
The cd1 test is to test the my brain is producing the baby making hormone again. Then a 21day progesterone test which tests for ovulation.
I get these for 3 months then if the ovulation one is negative for 3 months I will be referred for more tests. X
