Hello Ladies. I am looking for some advice as I am in a bit of a quandary. I have been on Microgynon for years without any issues and am generally very good at taking it. I usually take two packs back to back (Dr said that’s fine) and so have a break / “period” once every 6.5 weeks. My last break came as usual on 25th November. For the last 10 days or so I have been feeling very nauseous on and off on a daily basis, without any particular reason. In addition to this, I have had sore breasts, some light period-like cramping pain and one incidence of very light pink spotting despite me being halfway through a pill pack (and therefore at a time that I would not expect to experience PMS symptoms). I have also had occasional spells where I feel a bit dizzy. In line with the concerns, I took one pregnancy test 2 days ago and another yesterday, both of which came out negative. I just feel like something’s not right and my instincts are telling me that I am pregnant. I am not even sure that my other half and I are quite ready for a baby (though it would be very loved if we were to have one), so it’s not just wishful thinking. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice or guidance really would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you haven’t missed any pills, or had a bug or something else to affect reliability, it’s very unlikely you’re pregnant.

If you have ovulated due to pill failure, there is no way of knowing when that would have happened so as to comment on reliability of pregnancy tests. Sadly, you will have to wait - if after another 10 days or so still negative, you can probably rely on that. At the moment it is possibly too early.

Chances are that your pill has worked and you’re not pregnant though. Hope you get the outcome you want.

Generally I like to say: pregnant enough for symptoms is pregnant enough for a positive test.

Unlikely you're pregnant (but not completely impossible). But as pp said, wait another week or so for a more definitive result.
