78th day of no period....

As the title suggests, I haven't had a period since the 18th October. I came off cerazette at the start of June and have had irregular cycles since but this is by far the longest.

DH and I are TTC and I last took a pregnancy test at the start of December so I'm fairly confident I'm not pregnant (we were both sick after that and didn't have any inclination to DTD).

We finally DTD on 26th and 27th December and yesterday I had really sore breasts and some cramps and EWCM in the morning for the first time in a long time, but we only managed to DTD late last night. Im mildly cramping this morning and have watery CM. These long cycles are so confusing! Is there a chance we might've caught ovulation this month? How long should I wait before testing?

@tinker I took starflower oil capsules from the start of coming of the pill. All bodies are different so I don’t know if it’s that that helped or just my body being quick to sort itself out. Knowing my luck I will have a 100 day cycle after this xx

Tinker315b · 02/02/2018 00:14

Thanks @Loz604 will have a look at them tomorrow! I will try anything, started taking magnesium aswell and been on folic acid since October! Xx

SpadesOfGlory · 02/02/2018 15:47

What do you think of this ladies?! Possibly the darkest opk I've had yet!

This is good timing...DH and I are off on a dirty weekend break tomorrow morning Grin

Good luck to you @Karigan1 and @SpadesOfGlory. Happy baby dancing!

Here's the latest with me.... I phoned docs today to get an appointment (it normally takes at least 1 week to get an appointment - at which point I would be CD90.) It turns out the appointment system has now changed and it's an on the day appointment.

Doc phoned me this afternoon.... I've to go for a blood test on Monday morning to check if I'm pregnant. She said I wouldn't be the first person to have negative tests and actually be pregnant. I feel as though it's raised my hopes but logically I know I won't be! I couldn't be more than 3 months pg could I?

I asked her what happens if the blood test is negative... she says they will look at testing my hormone levels and refer me to gynae - which is the more likely option.

Karigan1 · 02/02/2018 16:32

I would say that’s a positive Spades. Have a fun weekend ;)

SpadesOfGlory · 02/02/2018 17:37

Do you really think it's positive? Yay! I'm on cd20 but a quick Google says that's definitely possible! I'll take another one in a few hours and see if it gets any darker.

Good news jellybeans sounds like you have a very proactive doctor! Hope the blood tests shed some light on your situation.

Looks positive to me too spades - have a fun weekend ;)

I've not thought to go to the Dr's about this. Every time I go for anythinf I feel like I'm wasting their precious time as I know how stretched they are. But I don't actually know what to do. CD85. Thinking of trying acupuncture in the hopes that can get me ovulating?

Karigan1 · 03/02/2018 09:16

Go to the dr. I got the impression there is a medical way of kickstart things when I talked to them.

Karigan1 · 03/02/2018 12:05

Hmmm technically I could test Wednesday. Undecided wether to do so or just wait and see if AF shows....

Tinker315b · 03/02/2018 16:50

Hi Ladies. Are any of you taking Vitex, Agnus Castus?
If so what mg, and do you have a link to where you buy it?

LifeOfRiley63 · 03/02/2018 21:11

This makes me wish I was at another Drs surgery. I'm on CD105 and both times I've been they've just given me the 'Be patient, it can take 6-12 months' which I'm accepting, but if I was offered some sort of test, I'd snap their arm off!

I take Agnus Castus, not sure what mg but I get it from eBay xxx

LifeOfRiley63 · 03/02/2018 21:12

@Spades deffo looks positive. Have a cracking weekend 😉 xx

Tinker315b · 03/02/2018 22:45

@LifeOfRiley63 I would go back and demand to get further advice or treatment! I think the doctor can prescribe a pill for a week or something that induces a period. Say that you are ttc and it’s gettinh you down! Can understand why they haven’t even offered you blood tests 😔

Thank you! I will have a look now!

hungryradish · 03/02/2018 23:59

That's shit lifeofriley - you mustve been so disappointed. & that's exactly why I don't want to go. They could at least offer some advice.

I'm going to order some agnus cactus & book acupuncture I think.

Karigan1 · 04/02/2018 12:19

The ladies on the 40+ thread are depressing me quoting statistics like there is only a 5% chance at this age :/. Cheer me up 78 day plus ladies....

I guess if it happens it happens. My sister just had a baby at 42 so hopefully the fertile genes run in the family....

Tinker315b · 04/02/2018 12:26

@Karigan1 Everyone’s bodies are different! I know loads of people who have conceived in their 40’s! Don’t give up and sure you could be in that 5% 😊

LifeOfRiley63 · 04/02/2018 13:37

Bollocks to the 5% @Karigan1 I say!
You're at it like rabbits, it WILL happen 😘 xxx

Loz604 · 04/02/2018 15:21

Positive thinking- don’t let it get you down and stress you out!

Karigan1 · 04/02/2018 19:42

Thank you ladies. :). I’ll just keep repeating to myself it’s possible.

gossipgirl28 · 04/02/2018 21:01

Question.....i need advice! is DTD too much a bad thing? Do you think it's better to DTD every other day during your fertile week?

I've noticed EWCM today (sorry if TMI) and according to ovia app I'm on CD11 and it's my fertile week. (Not 100% sure il have regular cycles yet as I've only had 1 AF since coming off the pill)

Me and OH have DTD for the last 3 days. I've read that sperm needs time to build up? Don't know whether to just try and DTD everyday until Friday so I don't miss my chance. OPK today was negative. I'm testing everyday. Xoxo

Karigan1 · 04/02/2018 21:06

Depends on you other half. If he’s young fit and healthy then everyday not a problem as the sperm replenishes fairly quickly. If he has low sperm count, can’t keep up or is a bit older then every other day is better.

If you can find your ovulation day and do it from day of LH surge for the following three days.

If you aren’t using opks or noting ovulation standard every other day from end of period is best.

Itmakesthereaderreadon · 04/02/2018 21:15

My periods were completely up the wall after dc1. I had bfn for 9 months and been on micronor. I did charting temps and millions of ovulation sticks and had lots of joyless sex around the potentially 'right' days. Dc2 caught right at the end of ovulation one month, when I thought I'd lost my chance.

gossipgirl28 · 04/02/2018 21:15

@Karigan1 thanks! He is 31 and healthy so will just try as much as possible I think. Might give him a day off tomorrow!

Karigan1 · 04/02/2018 21:29

Have fun :) and remember to keep it fun. Im only doing this because I’m ttc sex is dull dull dull. remember to enjoy it too. 😜

Cakelesswonder · 04/02/2018 21:43

Sorry if this had been suggested I haven't RTFT but when I came off the pill (hormonally fuelled cancer in my family) I didn't have a period for months. I then started supplementing magnesium, zinc and b vitamins because I found through research these were things that commonly become depleted taking hormonal contraception. I got my first period within a week, and have had a 27-30 cycle since. I find taking vitamin c helps if I am getting towards 30 days however please do not take pure ascorbic acid (vitamin c) if you are trying as it is a known emmenagogue (brings on periods). I was so relieved to get a normal cycle back so hope this helps someone x
