MMC in June and been trying to conceive since. I usually go for all my woman check ups in January but if I'm wanting to go for a smear, how do I time it? AF arrived today and will last 3/4 days. Fertile week is next Monday so surely if I'm DTD all week, I shouldn't then go for a smear??

Yearly smears??

Honestly a smear will have zero effect.

DailyMaileatmyshit · 02/01/2018 16:24

Go for the smear, it won't affect conception.

Can you not move your appointment slightly? I think I understand why you dont want your smear 🙈 nobody wants that doing whilst full of TMI haha but it wont affect anything or just explain before you have it xx

Why wouldn't you go for a smear? I don't see any issue?

I had a smear in my fertile week in October, the same month I conceived!

Presh12345 · 02/01/2018 17:48

I just thought that it may not be nice for the doctor having to deal with a fanny full of cum!!
Also wasn't sure if it would have any effect on the actual smear itself.

It doesn't stay in there. The sperm go where they need to go, the rest runs out again quickly. Plenty of people having a smear will recently have had sex, and it doesn't build up in there.
