How to use OPK

Hello! Just some advice on when to best use OPK. Think I have a 31 day cycle according to Flo, ovulating in 7 days time today. When is the best time to start the OPK tests? Don't want to waste them but this is only cycle 2 so also just planning on following FLo which recommends from tomorrow... thanks!

I'd start tomorrow just so you can see the pattern and get used to them. Youll see when your lines darker to dtd and then know if Flo is accurate too. I've been doing them for 10 days and sure I'm ovulating now but still only have faint lines so don't get too hooked on them. Are you trying for your first? xx

Yes trying for our first! What times are best for the OPK's? I read something about 2pm... I'm so confused!

I'm also confused I've been sending myself insane and doing 3-4 tests a day haha. Someone told me yesterday to hold your wee for 3-4 hours and do it between 11am-6pm so I'm going to give that a go! xx

Tinselistacky · 01/01/2018 13:07

I always tested at 2pm and 10pm and always caught the positive!!

xLeanne128 · 01/01/2018 14:07

Thanks @Tinselistacky I'll try that too is there anything else that helps get the best reading? Does holding urine work or the amount you drink affect the result? What day do you test from? xx

Last month I used Clear Blue advanced and Clear Blue regular digital OPK's as well as internet cheapies (obsessive much!)

I wasted so many tests when I really should have started testing on CD13 as Flo predicted. I got a flashing smiley with advanced as soon as i woke up on CD13, came home from work that night and did it again with a flashing smiley, then CD14 in the morning I had a solid smiley with regular clear blue and that night had a solid smiley with advanced and a very strong line with cheapies!

Personally I'll be relying on Flo because it's been spot on!
Good luck Smile

Cb does suggest fmu but cheapie don't!!
I tested from day 8 until I got a +. I have a 26 day cycle.
Used them with ds and got bfp on third cycle!!

@BubblesPls I use the flo app does it tell you when to start testing? It hasn't told me or do you just go by the 'ovulation I'm countdown? And would you advise getting the clear blue tester instead of IC? x

greeny506 · 01/01/2018 21:16

The flo app just tells you ovulation and whether it's high or low chance of getting pregnant. Will start testing tomorrow properly - will be day 12 if 31 day cycle so hopefully should catch in the next few days! I'm looking for the line to be as dark as the control right?!

XLeanne I would advise Clear Blue and IC but that's just me! I would always worry if one was wrong.

Flo predicted I would ovulate on December 23rd and I got positives on all my tests that day and then Clear Blue advanced was perfect the day before confirming LH surge :)

If you buy any IC just make sure you use fakespot.com to check the reviews aren't fake!

Took the top one yesterday. When I woke up this morning, a line was visible but not in the few minutes after taking it yesterday. Does this happen as they are left out? Just done another ovulation test and very faint line visible...

Hi! Just a quick question - is this fading now?! Still have ongoing period like pain so not sure if implantation or still ovulating pain! Thanks

Hi @greeny506 looks to me like you ovulated Tuesday night/Wednesday morning
Implantation usually takes place about 7 days after ov so is more likely to be ovulation pains still
Good luck this month though!

@DaisyMay25 thank you!

Hi everyone, would you say this was a positive ovulation test? I did one the Wednesday night and it was negative(no test line atall) I forgot on the Thursday due to a mega busy day in work then I had this test in the picture on Friday morning.

Hi @Fahassan please click on the paper clip and choose which photos to add. Also, your account does need to be 48 hours old before you can post pictures (sorry for the inconvenience)! Flowers
