Advice on ovulation please

I've been testing for 10 days and had no line at all apart from yesterday, started with stomach ache and niggles 2 days ago and a tiny bit of CM so presumed ovulation was arriving however the first 3 tests are from yesterday and the last 1 is from today. What on earth is happening? I'm on CD 20 Flo says my period is due in 11 days and still says chance to get pregnant. I thought they were meant to gradually get darker then disappear after ovulation. Feeling confused. TTC #1, had a normal cycle last month with all signs of ovulation but wasn't trying properly, this is our first month of seriously trying. Has anyone else had this and what does it mean?? TIA xx

When are you testing? Are you holding your wee for 3-4 hours? How long are your cycles normally? The top one looks like the one I took this morning at CD8, and I know I won't ovulate til CD15 or 16 at the earliest.

Some women never get high enough LH to get a positive OPK. You may ovulate later than you think. Some cycles you might not ovulate. EWCM is a good sign though. Try using FMU as well as in the afternoon/evening.

If you don't get a positive you could try Clear Blue Dual Hormone, they tell you when you're gearing up to ovulate with oestrogen as well as when you get your LH surge.

@holocenic my cycles are 30 days usually but the last 2 my period has been slightly late so I'm presuming im ovulating later than usual but I started testing from day 10. I didn't know if you had to hold your wee or not I'm new to this so have no idea haha. Yesterday the strongest reading I got was about 12 and my 2nd wee of the day but I drank no fluids at all, I normally drink 2 litres minimum (unsure if this would affect test?) What's FMU AND OMK? 🙈 thankyou for replying and helping me out I'm already feeling overwhelmed haha xx

Ah so yeah you're meant to hold for 3-4 hours before testing, and the tests say to take between about 11am-6pm, although I've also had a positive with FMU (first morning tribe) like you would if you take a preg test.

OPK is ovulation predictor kit - so the ones you're using are called IC (internet cheapie) OPKs on these boards. They work well but they aren't super straightforward, so I'm using both those and the ClearBlue, which I think is a bit more easy to use.

In theory you should've ovulated by CD20 on a 30ish cycle - I'm 29-31 days and ov on CD15/16 usually. So maybe your wee hasn't been strong enough? If you're still trying next month then maybe try holding it for longer and taking one with FMU and then in the evening.

Otherwise, if you have sex every other day from the end of your period then you definitely won't miss ovulation! But depends on how that works for you and DP
