Early pregnancy loss

Found out I was pregnant on Thursday, 2 weeks after I ovulated so works out I was 4 weeks. Friday I started bleeding and yesterday was heavy with tissue etc in so I’ve clearly had an early loss.
Feel very teary and emotional. How long will I bleed for? I know my hormones will be up and down for a while, anything I can do to help this feeling? Do I need to go to the Dr?

Id go to the dr and ask for a referral to EPU. I had this just last cycle and it was a complete miscarriage. I bled for 6 days but it took 2 weeks for the preg test to go negative again, be prepared the hormone can linger for ages after youve lost it. Rest up and eat well, have a good cry when you need to and allow yourself to mourn the loss. Sorry youre having to go through this, its a right rollercoaster Flowers

Kit - I'm sorry you've had this happen. If the tests have gone back to negative (mine always did before the bleeding) then you don't have to do anything. You can go to your gp for support, but mine was as useful as a chocolate teapot for that. You may also want it in your notes that you've had a loss, but you need to take care of yourself first and foremost - rest, fluids and distractions. When you feel physically able, I suggest resuming normal activities. The emotional healing happens with time.

Thanks both, haven’t bought myself to do another test yet, might when the bleeding stops but don’t think I can face seeing a negative. Trying to do Norma things but just keep breaking down.

So sorry lovely, when I had my loss at 5+2 the EPU wouldn’t see me because it was too early to see anything on a scan. They told me to ring the GP so I did and they did BetaHCG tests, one on the Tuesday and one on the Thursday. My levels had dropped so it was definitely a loss. Had they gone up then the EPU would have seen me.

I would call the EPU and see what they say but generally nothing before 6 weeks is really hard to get even on a transvaginal scan. If no luck then go through the GP. It’s worth getting on record just in case.

My bleeding was just like a normal period with it being so early. Lasted 4 days and that was that.
