Hi all

I’m currently abroad for 2 weeks and I need some advice on whether it’s worth seeing a doctor now or waiting.

Had a bizarre cycle - ov’d right on cue on day 15, then since then I’ve had a mix of brown and pink spotting from 6dpo right up until my ‘period’ started at 14dpo. On day 3 of light bleeding, no clots, no cramps like usual, and woke up this morning with almost uti/thrush like symptoms - sore vulva and back achey and heavy low down feeling and a bit itchy. Not tested since 12dpo but all bfn and I’m pretty sure now I’m not pregnant.

Now I might just be being silly but for some reason I’ve got into my head that I’ve got some terrible infection that’s made me infertile - we’ve been properly ttc for 3 months now but but not preventing for a year before that, and nothing.

I’ve had scans/swabs previously and everything’s fine but I’m absolutely terrifying myself - should I go find a doctor and get treatment for maybe a uti or am I just being ridiculous?!

Can you go to a pharmacy? They are usually great abroad xxx

Is this totally not normal for you? Then I'd say yes...how long until you're home? Depending on what country you're in you may have to try and find a decent doctor who speaks English to help you. Good luck x

Thank you so much. I’m in Spain, with Spanish friends so shouldn’t be impossible to find a pharmacy/doctor. Got some canesten from boots at the airport and it has made things feel a little better down there! I hope that’s all it is but I’ve bled/spotted for 13 days this month now which is not normal!!

@owlpatrol it’s 2 weeks until we’re home...my husband thinks I’m being a complete hypochondriac but just putting all the weird symptoms plus odd bleeding together..it just doesn’t seem right

@Mollydog88 if yiuve been bleeding for 13 days then yes do try and see a doctor... you are not being a hypochondriac! However don't panic - it is so very unlikely to be what you imagine. I've had thrush and UTIs before and experienced the symptoms you are describing on occasion so please don't panic over this. Abnormal bleeding should never be ignored though! X

Thank you @surreygirl 1987!

So I went to a doctor, no sign of infection so just treatment for thrush...not convinced, but will see my doctor when I get back. Does feel a bit better. Just been s bizarre cycle - spotting for 6 days, then a 2 day ‘period’ which just stopped half way through the day!

If nothing else, want it to be back to normal to try again next month.
