I took a test just now it was from a pack of two from Tesco's (£3.50 one) a couple of months ago, I didn't want my two children coming across it so I chucked the box and put the spare test in my bedside draw. I'm about a week late but had a crazy run up to Christmas which included me being in hospital for a couple of days.

So the test has a clear line in each window, but no cross at all........ Anyone taken one of these resent key that can help??

Are the two lines facing the same direction, or are they at 90 degree angles?

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 28/12/2017 12:45

both the same direction

Can you post the pic again?
I've got a positive Tesco one upstairs and it's got a cross in one window.

BertieBotts · 28/12/2017 12:50

Then that would be positive.

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 28/12/2017 12:51

Definitely no cross, just two separate lines...

That's a positive! This is my Tesco test which was most definitely positive

Not all of the Tesco tests have a cross.

With cross tests, you get a vertical line in the control window and a horizontal line in the test window, which is usually round. Then if it's positive a second vertical line comes in the test window, forming a cross.

With line tests, the windows are normally square or sometimes D-shaped (mirrored, forming an oval). There will be a vertical line in the control window, and any vertical line in the test window means positive.

When the lines are the same direction it's not a cross type test.

BertieBotts · 28/12/2017 12:55

Haha! Oh my window shape theory is totally wrong then! Ignore that - but 100%, if you have two lines in the same direction, it's positive. It's only lines going at a 90 degree angle you can ignore.

Oh gosh, I can't believe I threw the flipping box away!, this is a lot to take in, does anyone have a box or instructions lying around from a Tesco cheapy test. I promised my two DDs a day at home in there pjs to play with their Christmas toys and they are being so good, they would be really grumpy if I took them out shopping right now.

I can't see a photo.

BertieBotts · 28/12/2017 13:02

Yeah just post your photo again, it didn't work the first time.

Tesco have different types of cheap test so it won't make any difference if we show you ours!

BreakHerOffAKitKat · 28/12/2017 13:05

Your photo is the same as mine and I have a baby sleeping on my lap right now!

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 28/12/2017 13:07

This is a pic of the Tesco test and the one I’ve taken. I can’t believe they don’t have any info in the product details on the website.... I might just have to ring up head office and ask them if I’m pregnant Confused

Probably a stupid question op but what colour lid has the test got?

BertieBotts · 28/12/2017 13:18

Are your photos showing up for you because I can't see anything?

sparklytrees · 28/12/2017 13:19

Congratulations

Thank you to the posters who have shown me their tests, I don't know if I'm in denial but I still think there should be a cross. I will have to wait until I can get another one, only problem is dh is working and not back until 10 tonight so most places will have shut. We weren't planning on anymore, always had the attitude that we are happy with our two but if we did accidentally fall pregnant again then that would be ok. Anyone else had a 3rd with the same mantra!

sparklytrees · 28/12/2017 13:27

Mine are definitely the same tests but I'd want to try another just to be sure

BertieBotts · 28/12/2017 13:28

Most pregnancy tests don't have a cross, it's only the ones which are sold as "easy read"

Anyway, with the cross ones the lines face different directions. If your lines face the same direction, you're pregnant!

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 28/12/2017 13:32

Thanks Bertie x MN is great for this kind of situation! I am sat here sipping a cup of tea watching my two girls play with their toys and acting completely normal. They just asked me if I was sending work emails, I just replied "yes darling, that's what mummy's doing, would you like a cheese or ham sandwich for lunch?" It's very surreal!

I did a Tesco one a few weeks ago, I know I only had one line and that was negative. Hope it turns out to be the result you want x

whirlygirly · 28/12/2017 16:21

I had a tesco one the other week and had one line too. Not a hint of a second line. Hope you're ok.

Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp · 28/12/2017 16:34

Oh wow - so it could be positive then! I’ve got a friend coming round with a test in a few minutes. She found out she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago she has one Ds who is 7 and gave up trying for a second! Her Dh has kindly offered to take my two out for dinner.
