Hypothyroidism? Tests

Hi all
Assuming I get AF in next few days as expected, I've got blood tests coming up for possible hypothyroidism. I was told these had to be day 1 or day 2 of cycle (durinf AF) which will be around new years day. Here is the paper I was given with the info on it. Does anyone know muxh about this sort of stuff and if so do this tests look right? I was under the impression that there were lots of tsh hormones to be tested for if suspected hypothyroidism so am I being tested for enough? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what all this means!

Tsh (raised) is the most common and easily tested for sign of hypothyroidism. If that comes back as ok then you can ask them to test for t3 to t4 conversion but that's much much rarer.

It says you're having thyroid function tests, which should include a test for TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone - it gets raised when your thyroid is functioning less effectively as it has to try harder), T4 and T3. Sometimes they don't test T3 unless you get an abnormal TSH/T4 result though, but they will always look at TSH and T4 together as you can't diagnose a thyroid problem on TSH alone.

If you do have a thyroid issue you should also ask for your B12, ferritin, iron and vit D levels to be tested as these can be linked.

The other tests on your list are just general health/fertility related, not thyroid specific.

Thanks very much. I will push for a T3 and T4 test if possible. Bfn at 11dpo today so am anticipating AF and will be relieved to have these tests done...
