Drinking over Christmas while TTC

Currently on the 2ww due to test either Friday 29th or Saturday 30th December if AF doesn’t arrive on the 28th/29th.

Would you drink over Christmas while TTC? I’m talking 3/4 glasses of prosecco and wine through both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, one or two on Boxing Day or keep it a dry Christmas?

I’m always dry while TTC and have only ever been pregnant or on contraception during Christmas so I don’t want to harm anything if I have conceived and it’s too early to know but also my family don’t know we’re TTC this time around so it would feel out of place without an excuse if I didn’t.

Just looking for personal opinions!

I unknowingly drank for two weeks after I conceived. My GP told me it wasn't a problem because it takes a few weeks for the placenta to form. Until then the foetus is nourished by the yolk sac and isn't connected to your blood supply, so drinking would have no effect.

of course have a drink, placenta won't even be formed yet if you do happen to get pregnant. Relax & good luck!

Yes, yes, yes. You can 100% drink whilst ttc. Any potential pregnancy doesn’t rely on you until around 5 weeks so you’re fine. Until you get a positive pregnancy test, just have a few drinks and enjoy your Christmas

So many children will have been conceived by pissed parents, a few drinks won’t hurt. A lot of people don’t know they are pregnant and drink for the first month or two of pregnancy.

If you’re really worried, then don’t drink at all, but I personally would have a few drinks.
