Anyone else only DTD couple of times in FW and got pregnant?

I’m wondering if anyone had similar issues dtd enough and stil got pregnant? (tried to follow SMEP) It’s been hectic time leading up to Christmas hehe I’m not sure what else was I expecting 😂 but I apparently only have 2 days left of my fertile week and we didn’t manage to dtd yet 🙈😂 I’m supposed to ovulate on Sunday so hoping it’s not too late...

Yes. Was exhausted after DS and so DD was very well planned! Only needed one try (much to DH's chagrin)!

Yep. Was rather surprised as was 38! DS conceived after one try aged 40...

I conceived after one time....(was a surprise) unfortunately ended up MMC got to 8+4 but found out at 12 week scan.

With my current pregnancy which was planned think we did it 2/3 times that month. Obviously more around fertile window but I deleted my app that month. Currently 25 weeks 😬.

Good luck if you get a couple of sexes in now you'll have a shot x x

HaveCourageBeKind I used ovulation test sticks daily, so when I got a nice firm line knew it had to be that night! I think it was actually the following night we DTD but my test the next day was pretty high too.

I just used the cheapies off Amazon, they worked fine. I'd used them the previous couple of months too, to get used to measuring how dark the lines were, etc.

I guess we were just lucky, to be fair DS was conceived on the first month of trying, too (but we had more time to DTD then)!

Good luck! Don't beat yourself up if it doesn't work this time - and you'll hopefully be less tired next month. I admit I'm a bit of a fertile freak for an oldie. We don't want any more DC so trying to persuade DH to have the snip... Wink

Plenty of women get knocked up by one well timed shag! If we don’t have much time to DTD during FW, I try to make it count by using preseed, pillow under arse etc. It’s dumb I know. Blush

We tried to conceive for about 4 years, had regular sex, nothing. On the verge of either accepting we weren't going to be parents, or seeking help and then discovered I was pregnant with twins ....... we worked out we'd only DTD once that month.

I did opk this morning and there was a faint line and yesterday was super faint, barely there so hopefully it’s getting darker... fingers crossed we manage to get some sexy time soon 😂

If you don't ovulate until Sunday I really wouldn't worry. We only DTD twice the month I conceived DS. We couldn't be bothered due to being tired and having a toddler. It's just the timing that's important not the quantity.

Yes we literally had sex once in the whole month when I got pregnant ( on a fertile day as trying) but I'd be ill then DH was away, it only takes one time Wink

Yes a couple of times! First time I came off the pill in jan. we were so scared of actually getting pregnant we didn't touch each other for 14 ~long~ weeks. Had sex once in the April and I was pregnant. Unfortunately that ended in miscarriage however had sex twice the month I conceived my now 1 year old and had sex four whole times in June and I'm now 26 weeks with my second - I hadn't even had a period as was still breastfeeding!
My partner is very full of himself and his "super swimmers"

Our first month trying we DTD once 36 hours before I got a dark ovulation test; now 20 weeks pregnant with a baby girl.

I really think ovulation tests are great; my husband thinks it was ‘super sperm’ Confused.

I’ve been pregnancy five times and four are from only having sex once that month (three on the day of a positive OPK). First pregnancy was when I was 34, so I’ve never had youth on my side either.

Gosh that really makes me feel better :) I think we managed 3 times around my positive opk... so fx it was enough... I’m sure if Its positive my DH will be claiming it’s due to his super swimmers too 😂

I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant- we DTD twice during my FW.

Looking back, I've ovulated on CD15- we DTD on CD14 and CD16.

It's never too late until you've ovulated!

Overall tho, I just think it's bloody pot luck with the whole thing!

It only takes one! I got pregnant from one lucky shag Wink in the summer but unfortunately miscarried. TTC in a more organised manner now, though!

We had sex once this month. Once only. I got pregnant. My consultant thinks I am hyperfertile though which is why I keep miscarrying as each month we get pregnant we only have sex once or twice

Just a quick question, I DTD on 19th Dec as had positive OV but next day was negative. Is this normal? I am very new to all this. X

Hey RC1985 I think it’s peet normal. The opk tests the lh surge that happens just before the ovulation so if it’s positive then you should ovulate in the next 24+ hours. After the surge it can become negative until the next surge :) I think... I’m pretty new to this too!

Yes @RC1985 it is! I used ovulation tests whilst ttc and would only ever get one positive and the following day it would be negative again

Well... apparently a couple of times is really all what it takes... Yikes! I will wait a few days to get another but i was just Feeling different and had a couple of symptoms so just wanted to check... 9DPO so still faint...

We dtd twice in my fertile window our first month of trying and fell pregnant. Was in complete shock that we were that lucky but it’s definitely possible! Good luck!
