I know I prob shouldn't worry as it's a first month using persona but here's my story.

I have 1 DS who is 14 months, I used persona when TTC him, he took 9 months to concieve after coming off the pill (was on it for 6 years) I was regular as clock work cycles were eitehr 26/27 days ov'ing 12/13 for 26 day cycle and 13/14 for a 27 day cycle.

anyhow forward to now. (currently ttc) using persona again, first few AF's post stopping BF were the same as pre DS. last two have been 28 days on the dot.

i'm currently CD13 and have no 'o' on my persona - first time pre DS it came up first month iycwim.

I should point out my cycles vary for the day like that - i have assumed it's to do with the fact I only have one ovary/tube but my dr said I would OV from the same side every month as it 'wins' by defult. also pre DS we had started fertility investigations which had proved to be OK. DH and I have been having unprotected sex since christmas (well infact before then but it wasn't very regualar then)

anyhow my main question is is there anything I can use herbally to kick start my OV cycle if needed?

I ov'd around day 20 this time which is very unusal for me as my cycles have been between 23-26 days recently, with a luteal phase of 11 days. Maybe we just have the odd cycle where we ovulate late. I was really regular pre dd2 but my cycles are different now. Sorry, that doesn't help at all!

thanks gf3, I know it's prob nothing and just my body resettling after DS but it's soo hard not to worry.

I can't even remember what I was pre pill - I think 28 days on the dot.

cd 14 and still no 0 - upon investigating the stick as you do - the 'test' line is not as strong as the other line. so I can only conclude i'm not going to ov this month

can you have af every month and no ov?

It is possible to have periods without ovulating. Generally speaking you are more likely to be ovulating regularly if periods are regular in nature. However, even normally fertile women can have the occasional anovulatory cycle.

Ovulation is not an exact science and a person can ovulate earlier, later or not at all in any given cycle.

Do not take anything herbal to kickstart ov - you may not need anything like this and natural does not always mean safe.

thanks for your help attila I'm just wondering thou, I do have an AF every month (have done since DS was 4 months old) - first few were particaully nasty but since stopping BF they're fine again. can I still have an AF every month - with out fail (between 26-28 days long) and not OV at all - or could it just be my persona moniter?

Hi

You can have AFs without ovulating.

I would consider putting aside the persona monitor. These can be inaccurate; I would have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are actaully like. This would give you more accurate readings.

right I finally have my O on CD18 so panic over on that front, but if my cycles are 28 days it only gives a LP of 10 days - is that long enough? I alwasy thought it had to be 14 days? any thoughts before I harrass the dr.

thanks
