Hi everyone!
I'm new here so let me introduce myself...my name is Sophie, I'm 25 and me and my partner are TTC...first baby.
I had two shots of the sayana press (self administration injection) and prior to that I was on the mini pill, and didn't have a period for about 2.5 years. Prior to the mini pill I was on microgynon but had to stop it as I was having migraines.
I was due my next injection in August, however obviously didn't take it because we're TTC. I had a period in October which lasted for 23 days...pretty standard for me because I have PCOS. My periods before I went onto contraception were very irregular and very very heavy, and lasted a long time, I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 and the GP told me I might struggle to conceive...if I can even conceive at all...
Anyway, since my period in October, I haven't had another one. But the past couple weeks I've been getting period symptoms...sore tingly boobs, bloating, back ache, nausea. And then they just stop for a couple of days. And then they start again. I've took a couple of pregnancy tests to rule it out but nothing. I've also took ovulation tests and I don't appear to have ovulated at all since my period.
I am just interested to hear other peoples experiences of coming off the depo injection, especially if you have pcos! How long did it take your periods to come back "regularly" and how long did it take you to conceive? I know it's only been a very short period of time for me but I'm just curious. Also, any tips?
